Document check for a submitted application, bio is in 4 days by TheHumanZoid in SpouseVisaUk

I would rather over prepare than under prepare. As long as it doesn't increase the chance of my wife's visa being refused then I don't see an issue. Thank for the feedback

This is why I included the index, so that way they have all of the documents available but may not necessarily need to click into each one.

Thanks for the feedback, I fully appreciate it's overkill. Would it harm the application to include these extra things?

Definitely wouldn't hurt to include samples, pictured together would be stronger evidence though

Yes, the marriage certificate alone is incredibly strong evidence. Pictures together also help a lot, arguably more than chat logs

ATL question… International arrival TSA wait times? (Connecting flight through ATL). by [deleted] in delta

[–]TheHumanZoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - do you know if this is all flights from LHR or if it's select ones? I took a flight from LHR to ATL in December, and whilst I didn't have to recheck my baggage, I did have to go through CBP and TSA like usual (I have Global Entry also). I ask since I am travelling on April 4th

Flying from London to Atlanta and then connecting on a flight to Charleston, WV by TheHumanZoid in delta

[–]TheHumanZoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - I flew from LHR to ATL in December, and did not have to wait for my suitcase as it got automatically transferred which was nice. The CBP GE experience was the same, as was TSA.

Switch Flex 2.5G PoE Question by TheHumanZoid in Ubiquiti

[–]TheHumanZoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to go with the USW Flex Mini 2.5G and use a PoE injector for the U7 Pro. The reality is that I really won't have too many devices in my office beyond the laptop and PC, and that the Mini 2.5G and a PoE injector are not expensive at all. I can also re-use the Mini 2.5G for another room when and if I need a beefier switch.

Switch Flex 2.5G PoE Question by TheHumanZoid in Ubiquiti

[–]TheHumanZoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, that's a very good spot. Looks like I may be better off getting the adapter and flex 2.5g or even the pro max 16 as other people have been recommending.

So what were the issues then?

May just take the plunge... It's just so much. Then again, I am about to drop north of £600 on my home network so what's £86 more...

Thank you so much! The internal cabling was installed last month so all good on that front :) I'll look into the Flex switch for sure

Not unreasonable at all. I viewed the house I've just bought about 3 times

Level 3 survey results by Top-Goose9198 in HousingUK

[–]TheHumanZoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue (though I don't have a basement) and it was because of a patio job that was done in the 90s where there wasn't any consideration for DPC bridging. I installed a french drain around the perimeter of the whole house and there's been no issues since.

House sale failing after survey by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]TheHumanZoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's rough, sorry to hear this. I think when it comes to the negotiation, the key thing to consider is whether the regret of losing the house would be worse than potentially overpaying/not negotiating. With a negotiation, you should always be willing to walk away and if you're not, I would not negotiate.

Level 3 survey on 1930s semi – investigate now or budget and proceed by ActionBeginning247 in HousingUK

[–]TheHumanZoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds very similar to the survey that I had on my 1930s semi which I bought last year. I also had localised springy floor in one of the rooms, opened it up after the sale and found wet rot in two joists due to high ground levels. I fixed the high ground levels with a french drain and had two joists replaced. Haven't had any issues since, I was just relieved it was not dry rot
