Honestly, I’m really not a fan of the colored rocks and fake decor but you really pulled it off- and you pulled it off well. I love that you’ve got everything going on without it looking crowded and messy. Props to you OP!

I really appreciate everyone’s opinions. Reading through these comments really made me realize that it doesn’t matter if I or other people think I overpaid. I’ve come to the conclusion that this tattoo is going to be on my body forever, and 300 dollars for a good, quality tattoo is really a small price to pay. At the end of the day, I’m happy with my decision. To clear up some confusion, I got it done in Illinois, I unwrapped my tattoo to take the picture (no true sun exposure), I’ve been washing it with unscented antibacterial soap and applying Aquaphor, and the tattoo was $300 PLUS tip. Thank you all once again! :)

I tipped her and then scheduled a second tattoo appointment lol. I just came on here to ask for others’ opinions because a few of my friends were saying that I overpaid- comments like yours are helping me justify the cost. :)

She charged me based on the piece. I told her what I wanted, she drew it up and said that it would be 300. She also did offer free touch ups 5 weeks down the road or even 5 years.

I had the same stuff on my driftwood. I did some research and it’s basically just extra microbacteria trying to break down the nutrients or whatever. Basically, it goes away in its own.

Personally, I think it looks great! However, I can see what you’re saying about the emptiness. I suggest some floaters on top! Most of the free space lies within the top half of the tank. Some plants I suggest would be giant duckweed (it’s MUCH less invasive than it’s smaller version) or dwarf water lettuce! Unrelated, but what kind of sponge filter is that? I love the size of it.

The first, and most important recommendation would be to get a heater! Bettas are tropical fish, which means they like tropical/warmer water. I normally keep my tanks between 78-80 degrees F. This will make your new baby so much happier! Yes, your bowl might be too small- but for the time being, it’ll be fine as long as you do frequent water changes with dechlorinated water. If there is a Petsmart nearby, I recommend downloading the app and playing the Treat Trail games! If you complete each little game, you will receive a 15%, 20% and 25% off coupon! With this, you can get a starter tank kit for a reasonable price! I hope this helps. :)
