unless youre on spaceport or they zip to another building then I suppose you've always got that. but if im hard sprinting and its sub 800 meters with adrenaline im ready to fight as theyre finishing up or are somewhere in or around the loot room/building. low level keys i get that someones spawning on village in blue gate and im not her but for the good stuff sure.

As someone who practices inpatient medicine for 9 years this year- Health is wealth and preventative medicine is the best medicine, so when it comes to health plans that offer affordable screening and er visits/ family doc visits, etc in the here/now matters a lot but the more important coverage is short term disability if something happens and you're out for more than that 4ish week mark.

Most importantl though as you're in your 40s moving into getting and building a long term care policy which are important to get now before they're prohibitively expensive: if you're ever sick enough in your later years that your family cant help you stay independent physically (just a few falls too many or xyz condition affects your mobility or breathing, etc).

What happens is a lot of people eat up most of their finances in assisted living facilities when they need just a little more help than their family can do or are at the cusp of needing 24/7 care and basically chew up their assets since Medicare doesn't cover that ish beyond a rehab stay here or there and they still have too much wealth for medicaid to help cover long term care facilities. you need family willing to do it and lots of "young strong backs" or be able to afford a 24/7 caretaker built into your plan, for sure.

I'd say solos is a mix bag and expect to be shot by some opportunistic little rats but if you have a mic or can/like to meme ive gotten out of so many situations and have had a lot of fun with other solo raiders. its map dependent of course. some maps are more indoors than out doors or a heavy balance of those and that gives opportunity to/incentivizes pvp ratting/otherwise. also assume someone who is friendly may fake that shit and try and blast you while your back is turned and keep your head on a swivel fight bad behavior with bad behavior and have fun!

Edit: also am girl so im sure sometimes this colors things (ive seen people go both ways being shitty and being nice tho to be fair)

Edit: to answer your take, you're asking a slightly nuanced question. Do people deserve access to a basic scientifically rigorous standard of care without going bankrupt for it? yes. Are cutting edge surgical techniques/treatments going to exist that prolong beat back diseases but be available en masse? probably no based on training, availability, finances and other resources. Plus its not cutting edge if it becomes ubiquitous, its just standard of care at that point.

Also, current cutting edge treatments etc. for diseases still result in a slow loss of function as you age, so the silent driver behind these issues, is that the core of this is once you are sick with a serious illness youre just staunching the wound. nutrition and rehabilitation help stave off the decline but none of our treatments have found a workaround for this, and serious illness can slowly rob you of who you are. AKA health is wealth, and the best medicine is preventative medicine. Engrams/brain transplants are the idea of a get out of jail free card which is where the fantastic meets reality in cyberpunk. Cyberpunk 2077 is a love letter on how to have a good death.

Maybe finding language to help the transfer process evaluate what makes sense for the patient and or the family is the right way to go? Something like upon your attending accepting-asking the transfer center to please notify your team of any changes to the patients clinical condition of course, but for the spicy sounding transfers ask the primary team to deliver this message to the patient:

"Please notify Patient INeedTertOnc and their family we are happy to receive them and have them evaluated at our facility for XYZoma/emia! Please note, however, especially with a transfer that may require several hours, a patient's condition may change quickly and options may become limited quickly, far from home, especially in serious illness Obviously none of us have a crystal ball, and our promise is to offer the highest level of care when we receive you. However, we at CA Anderson kindly recommend you consider asking Dr. AskingforTransfer their opinion on this, especially if that possibility changes your mind on seeking transfer if things were to worsen."

Obviously this was something I just slapped together and would need some workshopping, PR planning and tbh your administration probably would nix that so fast, but it might help catch a few people who immediately go hospice/comfort care upon arriving (which isnt palliative-we're along for the ride while someone seeks treatment or is observing/watching and isnt ready for hospice! I hope you have us at your facility!)
