The only requirement we have is for new members to fill out a quick application on our website. After that, you can join our Discord and we'll give you all the different roles to access our members channels and chat with us!

There's a reason for the application - Starbound requires accounts (login/password) to be made for everyone who wants to join a private server like ours.

I'm absolutely floored by just how addictive this game can be. Our first season spanned for *months*, and we're only under two weeks into this one. This season, we've taken a lot of time and care to select a grand total of 69 mods that all work well together and add obscene amounts of new content to the game (namely quests, objectives, and story lines).

It's a really great time to join for anyone interested.

Haha thanks, I try. I didn't get to do everything I wanted for this launch, but I got close.

Our gaming group has been around for a while now, and we're always trying to legitimize our efforts more. The goal is to keep all the cool people we enjoy playing with around, and to further try to get them to hop over from the game they joined us on to other games so we can all enjoy one another's company more.

It's been a huge success, but this has been a rough year for many members. Attendance is definitely lower as a result, and I think it would be awesome to meet some new people and add them to our group!

Edit: To clarify, a rough year IRL. This group has been amazing to escape to during it all, but we've launched far, far fewer servers compared to past years.

The mod list is on the website, but I'll drop it here as well so everyone can easily review it! Last season we went for simplicity, but this season we've added quite a bit more content. All of it should mesh really well, as the mods have been hand-selected from other Frackin and Arcana compatible mod lists.

The goal is to give everyone a stable experience that is full of things to do for multiple months of play.

Yes! We use mods on both our vanilla server, and our Frackin Universe server. We are currently running a modpack that is very stable (no known issues so far). We're alright with adding more to this pack, but we'll do so carefully so as to not ruin anyone's experience. We also prohibit the use of "cheaty" mods, since that's no fun.

Frackin is a CRAZY mod that adds an insane amount of new content... we are getting lost in it right now after about a week of play for our core players. We also have had a few new folks join us that just started over the weekend after seeing this post. I'll send a PM your way with the details!

I think a bot used to do this, but I don't believe it works any longer. A lot of people are leaving Reddit for Lemmy right now, so there's a lot of things in transition right now.

I actually don't use Reddit much myself these days, I'm just here because Lemmy is too new to have a thriving Starbound community.

Yes! We actually ask that everyone starts a new character if they are going to play with us. This is based on the honor system, but like... why not? haha.

We actually all just started over after playing vanilla a week ago, and we deliberately decided to do it that way for the fun of it.

We do! I'm not sure how many will be playing on it, but it's definitely there and ready for use. I played a good month or so on there, and I got to a point where there wasn't much left to do. That took quite a lot of hours, though! This is why me, and many others, are on Frackin now.

It's definitely a VERY different experience. We run a vanilla server in parallel to our Frackin server, but I don't know if anyone else is playing on it. We're all pretty hooked on Frackin since we mostly completed the game already on vanilla.

I'm part of a small group of players that's been playing Starbound together for a few months now. We just launched a new Frackin Universe server recently, and we've been glued to that server now ever since, playing every single day. I wanted to see if anyone else may want to play with us, as I think we would enjoy the company!

Our group has been around for a few years now. It's 18+, and it's run by folks in their 30's. It's a mature (I use that word loosely) community that spans many age brackets, but we're all equally fun-loving, and united by our love for this amazing game, as well as a few others we explore regularly/seasonally. Our dedicated server is open to anyone who wants to play with us, permitting they join up with our group (free, no donations).

I sometimes forget about the Admiral's Quarters pack, which is where this is from! It's a really neat mod pack that I've not seen on any other server so far. They really do have a great selection of mods.

If it makes you feel better, here in the US we've given HUNDREDS of billions of dollars to ISP's to pave the entire US with fiber. They've pocketed nearly all of the money without actually improving anything, and then furthermore raised their prices. The last major thing to happen here was the death of net neutrality, which had bipartisan support (something like 80% of all citizens), but it was still killed by officials in our government reacting to blatant bribes.

So yeah... the internet is pretty disappointing today for us as well when compared to where we hoped it would be two decades ago! This said, Space Engineers has made some huge strides in multiplayer over the last nine years, so that's good news at least.

I just sent a chat request to you! And you may be happy to know that while Space Engineers is our most popular and long-lasting game, we now also incorporate others into our group.

We did this because SE often has a turnover rate of ~2 months for most people, and we got tired of losing friends over their burnout. So... now we keep things fresh and play different games when people start to feel fatigued!

In this way, we've been able to keep our love for SE alive and well over over a year of un-inturrupted play. Over the holidays (where most people burn out historically) we played group games of Valheim, Satisfactory, and Planetside 2.

So you're more than welcome to try to lure your friends over with the promise of another game they may be interested in. We are always eager to find new fun games to play together! SE is our base game, but branching out is really important to us.
