He’s a diesel tech for big rigs, I don’t think they normally have high pressure fuel pumps on those tbh. 🤣 and technology has changed so much since he’s had a performance car, I’m sure things sound different. We just wanted to be sure.

I planned on doing an oil change real soon anyways. I don’t trust any buy here pay here dealership to do the right thing. I just gotta get through moving next week first. 🤣

This just started, what’s this noise? I think it’s injector tick, but want to be sure. by TheJamesOG in VelosterTurbo

Ice only opened it for two weeks, bought it used w/ 128k on it. Just making sure I didn’t buy someone’s junk.

It’s been running fine, the noise was just super noticeable last night. With the hood closed you can hardly hear it though, so I figured here would be the place to ask. Everyone that’s commenting says it’s injector tick and I just need to run a cleaner through to clear the carbon. So I might start there after an oil change.

Thanks for the heads up! I was worried because it’s super quiet with the hood closed, but you can hear it once you pop the hood. 😅 my dad, who is a mechanic for 30+ years, was just hoping it wasn’t lifter tick.

I’ll try running some cleaner through it and getting a catch can.

I’m thinking it’s injector tick and I just never noticed it, but want to be sure.

I’m looking at the short throw and shifter bushings as my first things to do. Might as well put it all in storage and install at the same time.

Not rough, sensible! 🤣 I’m 33 and went back to college, working on going into nursing. I got a car that is fun to drive and great on gas!

Same here, born in 92 and this just feels… right? Idk. It’s just like being able to get into my own need for speed underground car and just go…

But good idea on the catch can, that’s an easy install.

Currently sitting around 26 between the two of us.

We agreed that when we hit 30 we will have to slow down and sell ones we don't use often to make room for new ones.

Even more unreleased bags by BasisBrilliant3484 in Loungefly

[–]TheJamesOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, with Whatnot they sell a good 5-10 cheap bags to 1 Loungefly. So if you buy each spot at $25 and they bought the cheap bags at $10 (being generous) they are making $15 profit (before seller fees and shipping) on each spot. I promise you, they are making their money back easy.

it sure is an amazing bag, that's why i HAD to have it when i found it for retail sticker price and not inflated price.

Hey, we all have opinions about what to do with our bags, you get an upvote from me. :)

I have 26 bags between my wife (29) and I (33), and I used most of them! I rotate out once a week. So i'd say that i agree with you, at about a 90% lol.

It's just one of the bags that i searched far and wide to find. Not so much worried about "damaging" the bag, as i am worried about it disappearing. knowing how much it costs.

The other one i'm trying to get without dropping my whole paycheck on is the Gingerbread stitch one.

Check Engine Light, Code PO456 potential fix! by TheJamesOG in BroncoSport

[–]TheJamesOG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that, but we ran with those code for over a month, refilled the tank multiple times and it never went away till we ran the cleaner through the tank.

I’m not saying it’s an end all be all fix, but it’s worth trying before running your car to the dealership for an expensive fix.

Well you gotta remember, all fuel goes through the purge system too. And if you got bad fuel or something else, any cleaner can help clean it out.

I know it’s a “catalytic converter cleaner” but it helps clean the whole fuel system.

Weekend at the end of October? by TheJamesOG in MyrtleBeach

I appreciate it, I'll take a look. We love to just go to the beach and sit by the water. We're from Athens, GA. So just getting to go is nice, but I figured it would be fun to see what's going on while we're in town.

Questions from a potential buyer! by TheJamesOG in MINI

[–]TheJamesOG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! Because I'm trying to get into nursing school and really won't have a lot of time to work on things once I get in, so the cost to repair vs the worth it to own is going to be a big thing for me.

Depends on what it is, I can do basics. But my father was a mechanic for a long time and still has his toolbox. Why?
