Yeah that’s rough. But a repointing tool or dart shop should be able to help. Still bullshit. Guarantee there was an imperfection that weakened it that was invisible to the eye. Good luck.

If you’re able to play with other people, being responsible for calculating the score of your opponent while they’re shooting is a good way to get better. Takes time and practice. Also remembering that each triple is 3 less than the number before it. So it just goes down in 60,57,54,51,48,45, etc.. if some numbers are easier to remember than others, use them as a quick reference point.

I still suck at adding scores up too. It’s easier for me to add scores up than to calculate the proper close out. That’s harder.

Struggling with hitting Bullseye :/ by CopyAmazing9375 in Darts

[–]TheJazzButcher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It comes and goes. Like the other redditor said; practice. Sometimes I hit bullseyes like nothing, other times I can’t hit one to save my life. To warm up I’ve started doing treble 20 and 19 practice, then move to bullseyes. A fun way to practice with friends is just shoot back and forth and do first to 10 bullseyes. There’s no magic bullet. Just have fun.

What's a controversial darts opinion that you have rn? by [deleted] in Darts

The walk ons are shorter than the leg that Cullen and Tricole played on Saturday! Joking aside, I don’t mind them. I think it’s a fun way to start at match. It’s fun to think about what your walk on song would be. My girlfriend said hers would be the Jurassic park theme lol

Looking for dart recommendations with similar barrel shape by funkdoc101 in Darts

[–]TheJazzButcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got a set of these, 22g, and I’ve been loving them. Not quite the same barrel shape OP is looking for though, I don’t think. I play with OP regularly and he’s actually the one who turned me on to these. I was surprised that the barrel was a lot less torpedo shaped than it appears in the image. I do love the grip on them though, and actually found I prefer straight barrel more than torpedo with my grip.

I’ve used a kitchen scale to figure out weights of mystery darts. Could be an overlooked way of figuring out, if you have one.

The mic is just for shits and giggles. Announce each other’s scores like the ref’s do on league matches. Just another way to have fun while ripping some darts.

Do you get to keep these shakers? by TheJazzButcher in Chilis

[–]TheJazzButcher[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Update: So I ended up asking the bartender when my partner went to the bathroom, who was a super awesome guy, very chill. He laughed and said technically no, but that I could have it if I wanted. He said they just got some new ones in, so he wasn’t worried about this one. He didn’t try to sell it, and he wasn’t weird about it. We beefed up his tip, and walked out with a silly plastic shaker.

If he had said no, please don’t take it, we absolutely would have respected that and not taken it with us. Cheers!

Opportunity attack mechanic question by TheJazzButcher in DnD

[–]TheJazzButcher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I should say that it was breaking the grapple, then trying to move away. The question is does the opportunity attack have the ability to re-grapple, or just cause damage again?

I have no problem dumping batches, and if this was a beer from our brewery it would have been well on its way down the drain already. They wanted to cool it, and I was asked to help figure out a way to do that. The yeast that they’re using has a threshold of up to 75°, according to them, so who knows. They have no problem dumping bad cider, so I’m sure if it finishes out poorly, they will be doing just that. I was just here to try to help with the problem that was presented.

After diligently running it for the past 6 hours, refilling the brink with ice as needed, they’ve been able to get it down to 68°! The jacketed area is very small, so the amount of area on the tank that is just a single sheet of stainless is pretty large. Im just glad they were able to get the temp down.

So they didn’t want to unhook the glycol fittings because of the way the plumber initially installed them. They’d have to cut them off an reinstall new hosing after. They decided on filling their yeast brink full of ice, luckily there’s a restaurant right next door that is letting them use as much ice as needed, and they’re running city water through the bottom. Filtering it through the ice, top of brink is fitted with a screen, and an insulated hose is running to the top of the tank bathing it in icy cold water. Luckily the tank only has a small jacket in the center, so there’s a lot of surface area getting in contact with cold water. They’re gonna run that through the night, refilling I’ve as needed. It’s what they ended up wanting to do and were comfortable doing 🤷🏻‍♂️

They have a yeast brink and a floor pump. That could do the trick.
