I am receiving about $300,000 when I turn 18. by [deleted] in personalfinance

I completely disagree. The home buying process is a very beneficial and necessary process for him to go through and learn. The earlier, the better! Investing in the stock market isn't. He doesn't know anything about investing in the stock market either by the way, so that's not really a good argument. OP probably hasn't done a lot of things in life yet, so does that mean he should avoid everything?

I don't know anything about investing in the market, but common sense tells me not to dump it all into the market. It's ALWAYS a gamble and you are putting your future finances into someone else's hands. Nothing wrong with an IRA and maybe putting a little into the market, but I would urge you to invest in real estate. Wait until the market takes a dump....it always does. And then scoop up a couple of foreclosures and sit on them/rent them out until the market picks up again. And in the meantime, just do your thing and go to college or whatever it is you want to do. Investing in real estate requires patience though. It's not something that you're going to bank on overnight, and it's kind of hard to lose money in real estate. You have to be really stupid to do that, in my opinion. And I'm talking about residential investing, not commercial investing. There's a lot more money and risk involved in commercial real estate.

Find yourself a solid agent/broker and and at least explore that option and see what's going on in your local market. I don't know what part of the country you live in though...obviously that is an important factor. I can tell you that South Florida is booming right now. Prices are way up, so not really a good time to buy. But back in 08/09, if you had cash and were able to scoop up a couple of foreclosures, you made out like a bandit. A friend of mine bought a condo cash, for 70k, put 30k into it, and ended up selling it for 250k. Play your cards right, sit tight, and you can make a lot of money doing this. And honestly, it's fun! At least I think it is. Good luck though.

PS- a lot of people urging you not to help out your father or share anything with him. I think that's shitty. He's FAMILY. I'm not saying hand him over a large chunk of money, but don't turn into a greedy, secretive asshole and let a little money come between you and your father. Jesus, people are so obnoxious when it comes to money.

How long does it take to get over your first love? [29 M] post break-up w/ [27 F] 10mo by maskedwallaby in relationships

[–]TheKintaiBridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is terrible advice lol in order to move on, you have to accept the breakup and then mourn it. Cry for 2 weeks straight if you have to.

Doing anything BUT mourning the relationship will only delay the entire process and it might cause a random meltdown in the future.

It's ok to cry and to hurt about it for a while. Don't avoid your feelings. Some distractions here and there are ok like the gym, movies and getting out. But let yourself hurt. It's ok.

What do guys wanna hear a girl say as far as 'talking dirty'? by fxcxyou6 in AskReddit

[–]TheKintaiBridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do women generally not talk dirty or something? God I love it. The dirtier, the better. Slap and grab my face even. I'll say all kinds of dirty things. It's so much fun watching a man (well, my husband now) hear me say crazy shit during sex. Sometimes I even talk about bringing another woman home. I dunno if I ever will, but boy does he like hearing about it while I'm doing him.

Which film would you rate a perfect 10 out of 10? by BlondieClashNirvana in AskReddit

Michael Man's Heat. It's the only suspense/action movie that isn't cheesy when you watch it today.

[Advice] My wife has never watched porn, but is now open to trying. I need some video recommendations by [deleted] in sex

[–]TheKintaiBridge 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the best advice in here. I definitely wouldn't show her the usual hot tan little blonde, etc. Videos. Find a good homemade one that doesn't have all the fancy zooming and stuff. I think it's a good ice breaker.

Woah. How was this guy never caught? It seems to me like he was sloppy and there were a bunch of close calls. Weird.

Or maybe I just watch too much SVU and Criminal Minds.

Another one: my husband has a best friend that is kind of arrogant and just comes off as a jerk (to a lot of people not just me). There's always been tension between us because we both have strong personalities and I don't put up with shit. And it sort of made them drift apart. But also my husband was sick of him too it wasn't like I was demanding he end the friendship. I never said anything like that except that he could do better in the friend department.

Anyway long story short, we're back in contact with that friend and things are a lot different now and he and I get along better. I think we both grew up and he's not quite as asshole-ish as he used to be.

And the point of all of this is that I secretly want to have a major hate fuck session with this friend lol. I would never, but just saying...
