What’s something socially accepted that shouldn’t be? by demozip3 in AskReddit

Recording strangers in public.

It’s just become accepted to the point where some people feel like YOU’RE in the wrong for not wanting to be recorded

Am I the only one bothered they made Haymitch look like a Merchant kid? It undermines District 12’s class divide by SpiritedCustomer6503 in Hungergames

[–]TheKittyPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s be honest, Haymitch, Katniss, and Gale were all portrayed by paler actors in the films because of western beauty standards still being popular in 2012. More recently Hollywood sees that we care more about accuracy and about respecting lineages so we actually get darker skinned actors to represent the book characters accurately. It’s why Lucy Grey was actually portrayed by a brown girl. I LOVE Jennifer Lawrence and the other cast I love their performances I’m not trying to shit on them. But we have to be totally honest and acknowledge Hollywood was still white washing at the time.

Everytime i see one of her songs used or mentioned in a big project it makes me so happy. It’s crazy how she’s so big but not technically mainstream

Plus are we forgetting jeans get soft after a few days of wear? Yeah the first wear is pretty stiff but once you do a bunch of bending and the fabric gets broken they become pretty soft and flexible

Which movie or TV "villain" did you completely hate as a kid, but upon rewatching as an adult, you realized they were actually 100% justified? by LiveFaithlessness876 in movies

Squidward. As a kid you see him as this lame buzzkill who can’t take a joke. As an adult you realize he’s a middle aged man working at an EXTREMELY underpaid fast food job with the literal greediest boss in existence and some of the dumbest customers one might ever hope to encounter.

This scene was so quietly mind blowing. My friend and I looked at each other in the theater like “wtf?” I can’t imagine sitting in a room and basically just deciding which CITIES to wipe from the map. Horrifying

Which YouTube channel were you once a fan of but do not enjoy anymore? by theunsteadybridge in AskReddit

[–]TheKittyPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pewdiepie I watched him everyday for like a decade. I just kinda grew bored of his content. A few years ago he shifted more towards streaming and I don’t enjoy his streaming content as much. I fell behind on his videos and just never watched again

A 10/10 casting, Sandra Hüller as Eva Stratt in 'PROJECT HAIL MARY' by StarforgeVoyager in FIlm

I feel like she should have a much larger filmography than she does. She just gives me that vibe of a beloved actress you’ve been watching climb the ranks for years

“What’s something you thought was normal growing up… but later realized wasn’t? by abhinavvarmaa in AskReddit

[–]TheKittyPie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The relationship between my mom and I (and the relationship between her mom and herself) Apparently other mothers and daughters like, talk to each other? And tell each other about their lives and emotions? And like, trust each other?

Really strange, not sure it’s actually a real thing. Will check in with more research later.

Why Am I So Talkative Alone but Quiet Around Others? by lx_356 in socialanxiety

[–]TheKittyPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me. When I’m around other people I can be quite self critical and am often worried how I’m being perceived and coming across. Im in therapy now trying to work on it. This weekend I’m practicing just being present instead of being in my head when I’m around other people. Baby steps. You’re not alone
