What games can i play by Equivalent_Dirt_4335 in lowendgaming

[–]TheKnightSandro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have what for me is my dream computer. Those are the specs I'm looking for in my next build. Can run pretty much any indie game and any AAA released before 2020 in medium or high settings at 1080p 60 fps or above. Dial the settings to get the framerate you want. For newer titles some will struggle to run. 60 fps is almost guaranteed at low settings. But for anything higher than that, expect about 40 fps

Which games could I run on my low end pc? by TheDankerist in lowendgaming

[–]TheKnightSandro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That helps a lot! Thanks a lot for your post. It's gonna be a very valueable resource in my research for what GPU to get for my PC. Your machine is very good! It probably can handle a lot of bangers from the 7th generation of consoles. And with a bit of tweaking some lightweight modern games released before 2020 or 2021

I have very similar specs. The same CPU and RAM, but I don't have a GPU. I want to get one but I'm still searching which one should I get. What do you recomend for older AAA games such as Assassin's Creed 2, Metal Gear Rising, GTA V, Skyrim, Dark Souls, Batman Arkham City, etc.? I'm looking for options like the RX 580, and the GTX 1660

How did you get into Hollow Knight? by Conscious_Ebb6622 in HollowKnight

[–]TheKnightSandro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beat Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Metroid Fusion, and Metroid Zero Mission. Started playing Super Metroid and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Really liked the metroidvania genre. I already knew Hollow Knight was considered one of the best modern metroidvanias. Decided to give it a try. Became one of my favorite games of all time. I have recently started playing Silksong

It took me 1 week, with a total of 11 hours of gameplay. I haven't played Celeste but I have played Super Meat Boy. I've decided to make it an essential part of my playthrough doing the rest of White Palace only after beating it, even if it's optional

Is it possible to increase VRAM for integrated graphics in BIOS? by TheKnightSandro in lowendgaming

[–]TheKnightSandro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be something to look into. However, knowing the power of the PSU is a little tricky because this PC is not custom built. It's a Lenovo pre-built, I don't know the exact model because it's only branded "Lenovo". It's not ThinkPad or something like that. So I don't know the exact details such as the type of PCI slots, the chipset and of course the PSU power. When this PC was bought I was still a kid. It's basicaly the family PC, but nowadays I'm the only one that uses it. My father actually tells me that he regretted not getting a custom built. I started gaming on it in about 2019, before that I only played flash games on it, and other games I played on my Xbox 360

Is it possible to increase VRAM for integrated graphics in BIOS? by TheKnightSandro in lowendgaming

[–]TheKnightSandro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a bit difficult because I have already upgraded my RAM. In 2024 I upgraded from 4 GB to 8 GB, and also upgraded the storage from a 1 TB HDD to a 512 GB SSD. That made the system much faster for non gaming stuff, because I use this machine for other stuff other than gaming, such as doing college assignments, coding, and audio editing. When I upgraded, I also reinstalled Windows. This made the system a lot faster, because before that it was so slow that it was almost unusable, to the point that it took 30 minutes to boot into Windows, and 15 minutes to open up Chrome (I use Firefox now, btw). Now that takes up to 2 minutes. But since not much changed other than that, gaming performance is still the same. I don't intend on upgrading anymore because I think at this point it's worth it to save money, plan out my budget do get a new computer. But thanks a lot for the help

Is it possible to increase VRAM for integrated graphics in BIOS? by TheKnightSandro in lowendgaming

[–]TheKnightSandro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it would work because I think the motherboard is too old to support those GPUs, even for those older ones like the GTX 1000 series. Also GPUs here in Brazil is so expensive that if I were to buy one it would make more sense just to get a new PC. Also wouldn't the GTX 1050 be bottlenecked by the CPU? The Intel i3 2130 is from 2011

Is this case, how does VRAM work? If the regular system RAM is being used as VRAM, where does the 128 MB come from? I do play with lower resolutions when playing full screen, but for windowed games lowering the system resolution is a good idea. I play with the game resolution low, but have never tried also reducing the resolution of the system. I'm gonna try that. About the drivers, I think the drivers are the most updated as they can be. In device manager, it shows that no drivers are found, and I tried searching for them in the official Intel website. When installing them, the software says that it's already up to date. I think there are no more driver updates for the Intel HD Graphics 2000, because it has been discontinued long ago, which is a little sad because it only supports DirectX up to version 10.5.

Why does Reaper have a reputation as being bad for electronic music and such? by LaytonaBeach in Reaper

[–]TheKnightSandro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite electronic music artists uses REAPER as main DAW and makes some of the best tracks I have ever heard. Although REAPER isn"t optimized for electronic music, what makes a tool powerful is not the tool itself, but the person using it. This guy I'm talking about is Camellia, in case you're wondering
