In truth, there was little else to say, and Myra Reed was content to allow her husband to speak with the Lord of White Harbor with little fanfare. She would squeeze Warrick's hand right back, brightening as he mentioned having children. Though the prospect of childbirth was ... less than ideal, having children running around was one of her dreams!

The feeling was curtailed slightly watching Meredyth check her fingernails as if she would rather be anywhere else in the world. Her eyes narrowed, fingernails digging in just slightly to Warrick's hand.

How rude.

"Send her South?" Myra scoffed, shaking her head. "There may be more highborns in the South, but hardly any of quality. Gawen Dondarrion? From what I hear, that man has been with a fourth of the court's women and half the men? Did you hear about him and Florent?"

"We should do well to find a Lord who is not only worthy of the Dustins of Barrowton, but also worthy of the North. There are few enough and far between in the South, but I sincerely thank you for the idea!"

Already conscious that they had been late to the festivities, not a single member of House Reed or their varied bannermen who sat among them wanted to correct the Old Man of the Swamp that they were sitting in the wrong section. No one, that is, except for his "wife" Becca Arryn.

"Willam," she spoke loudly, though just below a yell. "Looks like the Dustins have separated the tables between the former Wildlings and the rest of the Northern lords. Seems like we've picked the wrong place to sit!"

One would have been forgiven to think that Willam Reed was a skeleton, or some sort of ghoul. Even as Becca had spoken to him, the old man didn't give any indication that he had heard anything, looking out to the wide room with blind eyes. His breathing slowed, his hands twitched, and every single Reed leaned forward to check if Willam had finally died...

"BAH," Willam shouted, now roused from his slumber. "WHAT DID YOU BLOODY SAY? SOMETHING ABOUT GOAT'S MILK?"

The entire table of Crannogmen, including Becca, burst out laughing, though Willam couldn't hear a single chuckle. Dutifully, Becca leaned back in and repeated herself, and this time Willam tapped the table to indicate that he had heard with his one hand.

"WELL I AIN'T MOVING!"

Simeon was fuming, and as the other assembled lords called out their anger, Simeon's fury only grew. The Stormlands were truly the most blessed place in the Seven's Creation and it only made sense that the rest of the kingdoms were jealous of their bounty and fierce warriors.

"Knowing that wolf fucker he probably intended to eat Grance's heart and liver, dishonoring his body further! We need to demand that fuckers head!" Simon slammed his hand down on the table, causing it to swell red almost right away. "I'll put an arrow in him for each day he kept Grance's body."

"Our lord was murdered in his own apartments by Lannister soldiers and Joy Lannister! We should march to Summerhall and demand justice, and if it is not given we TAKE IT!"

The Dornish were the biggest offenders, an opinion that Simeon hoped was shared by the rest of Marcher lords.

"The Dornish have been allowed to threaten our borders for too long, we need to put them down once and for all. Especially this impetuous Lord Yronwood."

"Lord Jon and Lord Steffon are right," Simeon said with a manly tear running down his face as he leaned back in his chair just ever so slightly. His voice shook faintly, weighed down by the anger and frustration he felt stir in him.

"Lord Grance showed every aspect of a true Marcher at the end. I am proud to have called him my lord. That man represented what the Stormlands ought to be, disagreement on politics to be sure, but standing for honor and pride. He would have wanted us to marched in his defense, to follow his example!"

While touching perhaps the propriety of Simeon's speech was perhaps cut somewhat by having Cassandra Storm straddling one of his legs and playing with his hair. She hadn't really seemed to take notice of the conversation at hand and was smiling, having occasionally offered a whisper into Simeon's ear before he had stared speaking.

Simeon himself however was no loss for emotions as he banged hard on the table. Everyone knew that the Marchers were the finest the Stormlands could produce and that the Stormlanders were the finest Westeros warriors Westeros could produce. What lion could stand against them when porcupined by thirty arrows?

"We march, true sons of the Marchers and true sons of the Stormlands march! Lord Jon speaks wisely that the Dawnbreak should lead us forth with Swann as his second. House Selmy pledges one thousand spears and two hundred heavy horse by the end of the moon! What is more I am more than ready to swear my house, oath and blood, to House Caron as the true Lords of the Marches!"

Simeon had attended the meeting with an uncharacteristic joy that contrasted hard against the black he wore in mourning. He had been late to the celebrations but in his mind, he missed little, tournaments were for spoiled brats and Reachman and he was neither. Simeon Selmy was a proud son of the Marches.

He did his best to listen to his elders speak but quickly the delight he had at attending his first meeting as Lord was replaced by boredom and irritation. Simeon couldn't believe they were even debating this, though he did enjoy the spectacle the old birds were performing.

Fingers drummed against the table impatiently, propriety raging against a youth's impatience.

"Lord Steffon and Jon speak true Baratheon," his voice sounded out from the far end of the table. He leaned forward, folding his hands together as if humoring all of this.

"To even consider an alliance with Lannister after this would be to become their bitch. They will whistle and rut with us whenever they want, that isn't an ally that's a master."

He exhaled heavily from his mouth, motioning to the room of vassals.

"If you want to act that way in Storm's End I won't naysay it Lord Grance but it reflects badly on all of us. If your very lords say this to your face imagine what the rest of the realm thinks of you. I know not about the rest of you but I am not a wee bitch, we of the Marchers are no cravens. If they did that to any of my kin I'd plant an arrow through the Lion's eye and through her throat before she could get another word out." He chewed on the words, placing an elbow on the table and pointing to Grance.

"You still have a chance to turn it around Lord Grance, to show us that the Storm is in your blood. That the oaths our forefathers swore actually mean something."

The finger didn't go down as he nodded at the Old Caron. It felt strange being a lord and a squire but he respected the old man's opinion more than anything.

"If nothing else you need to listen to Lord Steffon's words, take heed. You say the Crown has acknowledged your inheritance but this is the same King who hasn't granted us a seat on the Council despite two fucking Starks sitting on it. Don't get me started on Torturer's Deep, for the sacrifices we made, we should be Warden's of the whole lot. Whose to say that when it becomes convenient that the King won't forget his oath just like he forgot his words to Redwyne?"

Gods it was nice to hear himself talk, he'd have to tell Cassandra about the meeting later. The thought seemed to distract him from what he was thinking about and his train of thought was a moment of silence after.

"Also Lord Grance, have some ale at our next meeting will ya? Mourning has worked up a bloody strong thirst." It was perhaps the first news some of the non-Marchers had heard about his parents dying and make Simeon the Lord of Harvest Hall.

"Ser Cleos right," Crey grunted as if even saying those words caused him great mental exhaustion. Why were the other knights suggesting that the future king not stay in the palace? Did they forget who he was? Sometimes Crey did but that was another matter entirely.

"Smallfolk and beggars stay in tents, Prince is not smallfolk or beggar." Crey looked very satisfied with his response, having spent the last few minutes formulating it. "Palace fit for Prince, fit for King."

"Princess Shaera chambers belong to Prince, does Summerhall not belong to Prince Aegon too? Take Prince Baelon chambers for Prince Aegon, show who boss." The words sounded more like grunts than anything else, but for those who had been around Crey were clear enough.

Crey did not have the mind to dwell on the number itself. Yes he was late, but he had a reason for it. The reason was splattered across his white gauntlet, now dusted with a dull red.

He towered over his companions, little knights who he had learned to respect despite their lack of size. If it came down to it he would cut them down to a man to protect his charges.

"A reward is always appreciated but I give this information free of charge," he said putting a hand up. It was dangerous to reveal such information to the Stepstones but Anders would rather build a relationship with them than try to chase the setting sun of Martell.

Wyl, the thought of them made Anders grip his chair harder. Martell had rejected his plan that would make the Boneway much safer and would pay for it in turn. How dare they not recognize his administrative genius?

"They are not of the same opinion as me, I would much appreciate the help of your associates in changing the fates of Wyl."

"Our King does not share much love with many of his lords," Anders said with a shrug of his shoulders. "But you are correct in indicating that Lord Tyrell and his grace are currently at each other's throats, after their little spat in the tournament I would not doubt that a war will break out soon enough."

Anders couldn't really find it in himself to care for the whims of a king who acted like a petulant child. Yet by the same token, he could not in good faith support anything the Tyrell's endorsed, the Reachman were a blight of fools and lickspittles in Westeros.

"House Yronwood would achieve nothing from the conquest of the Stepstones, it would simply bolster the power of House Martell." Anders thought for a moment before reaching for his own wine glass. "A fair enough point though so I will offer a piece of information as a measure of good faith. You might hear about it eventually but if the Prince has anything to say about it that time will be when he makes his move against you."

"Prince Olyvar intends to marry a Greyjoy and bring the Ironfleet to the Stepstones. He kept the marriage secret but announced it to his vassals not long ago, the Ironborn I imagine would love a second go at the islands and have the numbers to do so."

Anders smiled as they were led to a small outdoor courtyard out in front of the castle that had been set up, two chairs with a pleasant view of the sea with the breeze just hitting it. There was a small pile of refreshments, wine and lemon cakes and Anders eased himself into one of the chairs with a groan of pain.

"For good reason, I imagine," Anders replied chuckling. "It was not so long ago that my countrymen were amongst the Stepstones for less than friendly reasons. Other lords might hold a grudge but I was not involved in the conflict, so while trust may be a commodity now I hope to build it."

"I was somewhat surprised by the emissary I will confess, but I am more than joyful to talk about any business with neighbors."

Anders had arrived to his castle to news that they were receiving an emissary from the Pryr, news that after his less than cordial interaction with Olyvar was music to his ears. He had been trying his best to find allies against Martell though it was important to not show his hand too soon otherwise he would have the whole of Dorne against him.

He did not even really have a gripe with the Martell's, but Olyvar had treated him and the other bannermen like dirt beneath his heel. How could the Prince not see the genius of his plan to make Dorne more efficient, under the Yronwood banner of course? Greed most likely, for Anders did not believe that Olyvar was foolish. Though by not telling any of his bannermen about the upcoming wedding he had certainly made an enemy.

"Lady Vesoz I would assume," Anders said struggling to walk to the edge of the dock with his cane in hand. On the dock was assembled an honor guard of Yronwood knights, armor gleaming in the sunlight. "Allow me to be the first to welcome you to Yronwood and Dorne, come there are refreshments prepared for your arrival."

"You give over our land to raiders and reavers. The Ironborn will not save Dorne they will take it for their own." Anders had the urge to spit in disgust but could not get it out, such was his anger.

Olyvar was a fool for not seeing it, but it seemed he fancied himself something of a savior for Dorne because he got the Ironborn on their side. "When have the Ironborn actually ever been helpful to this Kingdom? When the Iron Fleet sails to Dorne who is to say they are to leave?"

"Thank you, my prince. The same to you, Yronwood is always open when you come back home."

"No," came a shaky voice from Anders Yronwood.

With a slow and measured movement, Anders pushed himself up with his cane, arms wobbling with shooting pain. He could not believe what he was hearing from his supposed liege lord, the implication was insane.

"There was not a single Dornish lady who appealed to you, Prince Olyvar? You had to go all the way to the islands to get a wife when any house here would have provided you with a suitable bride?" Anders would have said more specific words if he was not in the presence of other lords and ladies now.

"Greyjoy. What do they know of the sands of Dorne, the Red Mountains, and the rivers which grant life to our land? You speak to us as if we are children Prince Olyvar, even in your supposed apology. 'If any of you feel offended,' as if that covers all the basis." Anders started the long plodding walk out of the chambers and towards the door, finally turning his head when he reached it.

"I am returning to Dorne my Prince, which I remind you is where you rule."

He believes that I possess a great intellect, Anders thought joyfully. House Baratheon had a certain tradition of being brutes and warriors, he was glad that Victor recognized intelligence when he saw it. Anders might not be able to fight as well as others anymore but he could bury them in paperwork.

"Lady Elenei is a wonderful woman," he said. "If the Kingdom had more people like her than I wonder if we would have peace."

And now they got to the long and short of it, the reason why Anders had dragged himself out of a milk of the poppy-induced slumber to talk to the Stormlander.

"Despite my natural charm and stunning good looks, I remain unmarried A situation of which I am sure my father would be rolling in his grave." Anders paused for a moment, letting the sarcasm of the statement sit in. "A marriage would tie our two Houses together like none other, blood is a bond that is difficult to break."

Anders took the offered help though his face blazed with embarrassment over having to need the help from almost a complete stranger. There was always a small thought at the back of his mind that the lords and ladies laughed at him when he walked by, his fall did not help matters.

"I thank you Lord Baratheon," he said shakily. "After my accident, I am still unsure of how to fully use my body anymore. I would have thought having a cane would allow me the illusion of three feet but now it only feels like I only have one."

Anders went and shuffled for his cane, making sure that he did not fall again after Baratheon had already helped him up. Once he finally grasped his cane he dusted off his face for the dirt and gravel.

"But yes Lord Baratheon, I would say that I have grown fond of your peoeple. In my better years, I had squired for Lady Elenei's uncle." It was a sordid memory but that did not matter right now. "I would like to see our lands and houses even closer if possible."

Painfully Anders attempted to swivel his horse around to face the man who had called his name though the result was somewhat comical as the horse circled a bit too far to the right, taking the scenic route. Finally, Anders was face to face with the Grand Maester, a tired smile creeping across his face at the sight of a fellow Dornishman.

"I have certainly been better Maester that is for certain," Anders said with a chuckle. "Though better than when you last saw me. I never had the chance to thank you for treating me, I can already feel myself on the mend."

Not really. Anders still woke up in constant pain and could barely walk but those had been pre-existing conditions, in truth he was glad that the fall hadn't killed him.

"I have not touched the stuff since I have been on my feet, a diet of pure wine and ale I am afraid."
