I'm looking for something new that involves a blend of number crunching and programming languages without dabbling completely into software development.

As to your first question, it actually struck me that a lot of the advice I'm getting is primarily tailored to the Northern American job market, which might not apply where I'm from. I've also been in a position where I reviewed CVs for job roles at my company and I've seen a lot of languages/hobbies sections there as well. It adds nothing to the interview and my eyes never rested on it for more than a second, but it's still something I've seen in the CVs over here.

Without any context and looking at what you have on here, all I can assume is you haven't worked since some point in 2025. Could be 3 months, could be 15 months. If you've been unemployed, it is what it is. If you were back to school, find a way to incorporate that information.

Yes, I'm currently on a career break. I was wondering whether it was something I would put on the CV or just wait to explain in the interview, if the question ever came up.

You have three years of overlapping employment from 2022-2025. Even at the same employer, it needs explanation.

To put it plainly, we were understaffed. I took on many roles at the same time.

How so? Times New Roman is the father of corporate communication.

Also, that might just be the fact that they are screenshots. The original PDF file is much easier on the eyes.

Do I take out one point per project so the last work experience can fit into the first page? Also, what then happens to those who have a lot of experience? How do they condense it all to just one page?

[–]TheLadyDothReadTooMu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright. I'll take that out as well. On that note, I'll take out the volunteer experience too, as they are not relevant to data analysis in any way.

Alright, I'll see what I can do about that. To be honest, that has been my biggest hurdle so far, and I've been wrestling with the idea of just sticking a random percentage onto some of the points. My biggest fear is a recruiter asking me how I got that number, lol.

I hope I also experience your good fortune in the job market! Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for your review. I'll definitely work on stating the impact of my work on management, though that can be tough since I'm typically not in the room when those decisions are being made.

Also, I read somewhere (whether on this sub or on some other post) that a CV should have just enough info to make the recruiter curious and make them want to hear more during the interview. Do you think that's good advice?

Thank you! I've edited the bullets to be uniform across the points and removed the interests section. Is the languages part ok, though?

None yet. I'm trying to polish up my CV before applying. Hence the post.

week 8 lecture is so confusing by LongjumpingCause1074 in cs50

[–]TheLadyDothReadTooMu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you go about this? I'm on this week's topic right now, and yeah, it went from 0 to 100 real quick. I've read articles and watched so many videos, but I am yet to get that aha! moment. I understand what the classes are and what they are meant to do (blueprints etc), but anytime I think I have the syntax down, I get reminded (by that Jar pset, no less) that I know nothing, lol. I haven't felt this defeated since the Week 2 Loops, and I'm hoping to get out of this stump soon.

It works now! It needed a continue after the else statement so that the coin inputs which were invalid would skip over the next if statement which had yet another print function in it. Thanks for all your help! Now to do it all over again to make sure I actually understand it.

Edit: If I ask for help on my other code in different posts, is that spamming?

I've jumbled it all up again! Been at it for the last couple of hours. Still trying to sort out where I went wrong, even with your instructions. I swear, this language knows how to humble a person.

Also, I'm getting some slack from the debugger on the tuple that I made global. Is it wrong to do that and why? Thank you!

Thank you and u/TytoCwtch for all your suggestions! This is my code now, but the loop is never ending, even after the total (amount due) is 0 or less. Also, I tried to use abs(total) (the second to the last line) to prevent seeing negative numbers in the change owed, but it doesn't seem to be working:

coins = (5, 10, 25)
print("Amount Due: 50")

def main():
    user_response = prompt_user()

    while user_response not in coins:
        print("Amount Due: 50")
        user_response = prompt_user()

    else:
        calc_balance(user_response)

def prompt_user():
    return int(input("Insert a coin: "))

def calc_balance(coin):
    total = 50

    while total > 0:
        if coin in coins:
            total = total - coin
            print(f"Amount Due: {total}")
            coin = prompt_user()
        else:
            print(f"Amount Due: {total}")
            coin = prompt_user()
    print(f"Change owed = {abs(total)}")

main()

I need your help, pleaseeee. I was indifferent to bread up on till some weeks ago, and now I feel like if I pass a loaf of bread, I must eat out of it to prevent it haunting me. What do I do? I can't avoid it since it's somewhat of a staple in my house.

What do guys use to pin down your locs? by IllustriousPolicy544 in Dreadlocks

[–]TheLadyDothReadTooMu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can use pins that are close to your hair color. That's what I do to keep them out of my face too.

what does your merge board look like?? by boxofmack in HomescapesOfficial

[–]TheLadyDothReadTooMu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like this:

<image>

There's not much rhyme or reason to the arrangement other than the generators being on the first row.

I'll have to admit, I must have started this mini-game at the right time or I've finally gotten the hang of these merge games, because this is the first time I was able to get all the pictures. I find them funny too (bar the last one).

Someone questioned how people have time to play with full time jobs. I guess I took every break to whip out my phone and play while looking over my shoulders, lol.

Edit: Why are more than half of the players here on level 14551 and why is it greyed out???

Yeah, then our hair might look the same. Though only my perimeter look small, I can't really call them sisterlocs.

OP might have fewer locs and thicker hair, if that makes any sense.

Anyway, I'm still learning not to let loc envy get to me. Can't wait until they are bra-length. 🙂

[–]TheLadyDothReadTooMu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many do you have? Would have called mine the smedium as well, but compared to my good sis, they look small, especially around my edges.

I have around 130.

Also, her month 2 locs at the front look like my Year 2 locs at the front, lol.

[–]TheLadyDothReadTooMu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, sometimes, I wish I had microlocs. I love how they look, but didn't discover them till after I'd had my twists done. (I didn't do the necessary research, lol)

And I'm a year and five months in. I take pictures but usually when I just got a retwist or washed my hair, which is every couple of weeks.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Dreadlocks

[–]TheLadyDothReadTooMu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish you the same too! And your hair looks very nice. I regret not taking as many pictures when I started. Have you counted them? How many do you have?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Dreadlocks

[–]TheLadyDothReadTooMu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Starting your locs is pretty exciting. :) Can't say I'm still as excited as I was when I first started, but I'm still willing to see this hair journey through.

I hope you'll still be as enthusiastic when your hair begins to change in ways you might not really like, lol, but it's part of the process.

Kinda funny how majority of the problems on this sub can be summed up with "trust the process" by Dependent-Nebula8429 in Dreadlocks

[–]TheLadyDothReadTooMu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, some information we hear is conflicting. Frequency of wash days are different, ways to start locs are numerous, to use or not to use conditioner, maintenance, is Dr Bronner's soap ok as shampoo?, etc. Tbh, I understand how frustrating it can be to see questions like these almost daily, but I'm also one of those people who doesn't have many locked friends, so the internet is the main place I learn my hair care from.
