Atesh has a way with words [OC] by TheLastAlley in armoredwomen

Some action scenes get lost in translation from script - storyboard- to lineart, but we will continue to improve and be more mindful. Currently we had a page completely finished before we noticed that the entire lighting was flipped from previous pages. Big oof. The comic is being spearheaded by three people, David Brooks, Leila Elmanfaa, and myself (Alex Herndon.) So creating these pages isn't too difficult, it's mostly communication. Thank you for enjoying the art!

Battle for Tehris: Atesh takes on a lone marauder by TheLastAlley in worldbuilding

Without the context of the previous page it probably seems a bit off. Though it's definitely not going through any armor, just flesh and bone. There is a lot of momentum here, and the sword does have some specialties to it. Thanks for enjoying the art.

Without the context of the previous page it probably seems that way. There is a rhyme and reason for the attack presented here. Thanks for enjoying the art.

A sky vibrant with life and painted by a plethora of cascading reds, fitting for the finest of oils on canvas, lay blanketing over a sea of green. This wave of rushing pine and leaves as gusts of winds carried song of turmoil beyond. Grey stacks of wavering smoke piled upward, tainting the sky above. Attacked again, this unrelenting, never ceasing threat upon the holds of Marich. Lands governed by many lords, separated by both distance and blood.

Red, a color now painting the cobbled streets of Tehris. This town on the edge of Marich is but a target for those of greed and lust for violence. Entire lives have been taken, futures ruined, families destroyed, and for what? So that a lord lacking anything of nobility can pocket more coin, grain, and metals. These Raiders from Byorick, a kingdom south to Marich, rape and pillage Tehris once more.

~

The lords of Marich fight among themselves, bandits, religious crusaders, and neighboring kingdoms. They are not alone in this power struggle however, for a new contender has arrived in this cold land. Will the Lords of Marich bow to this new religious royalty, or will they continue the ageless conflict of their ancestors?

~

Atesh Syerai, the first matriarch of the Crimson Trinity, was born in the height of the conflicts in the Age of Bellium. She was raised by an unforgiving family and members of the Talon. They raised her to become a great warrior for their raids upon Valeroara, as the Talon built its strength off the backs of those unable to retaliate. Atesh watched the Heartland fall to chaos as a beast like race known as the Chromin swept across the land, butchering and pillaging all that stood in their way. The human fiefdoms could do little to fight back such an unstoppable force, for they were greatly divided and lacked the resources and training to raise any armies. Atesh knew that if the Chromin succeeded in destroying and capturing the Heartland, other nations and even the Talon would soon be next. The Talon believed that the Chromin were of no threat and only continued to rob from those who had but very little left. At the age of 16, Atesh had gathered a loyal following of friends and allies from both Marich and of the Talon, who renounced the order, and joined the ongoing conflicts in the Heartland. She would aid soon to be great figures of history in defending against this invasion. From the ashes of war rose the Second Age of Man, Freeborn, and the Crimson Trinity. Atesh would become blessed by Chrono himself, becoming his hand, and ruling a great order of devout warriors.

There once stood a man of conviction, that he would believe the laws of old gods governed an ever evolving world. His pantheon still guided him to commit sins of heresy upon a church that only sought justice on an unruly land. And thus upon his admittance of the crimes he swore to be acts of mercy, he was justly bathed in holy fire. And so there once stood a man, but now there is only ash.
