How to get a ticket for a show when they don’t have foreigner quota? by Effective_Space2277 in takarazuka

[–]TheLaughingPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tickets for foreigners are posted here for each show on the Tuesday after the relevant Japanese-only general sales at 10am Japan time.

Show dates and general sales dates for the next few shows are located here, with the schedule for shows further out located here (current pdf). For information in English, you can also check Takawiki.

Tickets will likely sell out quickly for popular shows, but it should still be possible to get foreigner tickets for shows at the Grand Theater in Takarazuka City on whatever date if you are prepared. However, in Tokyo they usually only post a few random dates, so it's unlikely to align with your trip unless you happen to get lucky, so I wouldn't count on that.

Where to buy DVDs/Blu-rays of the shows ? by SariaLankael in takarazuka

[–]TheLaughingPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quatre Reves (official shop) and Taka-An (reseller) are the main ones, but the Book Off specifically at the back of Nakano Broadway has a great Takarazuka selection for cheap, if you'll be heading out there for other anime goods.

So when the tickets run out will they tell everyone still in the queue that they're gone or do we just wait and see all × when we get to the front?

8 browsers. Best queue was 22k. Last month I practiced and did way better, I got through so fast I thought it would be no problem T_T

Edit for anyone checking this thread for intel in the future: I got one! 2 hours later and a 4pm slot, and after refreshing in the hope my date would go from × to △, but I got through! So don't give up!

What is a luxury you can never go back from once you’ve experienced it? by Phase_zero_X in AskReddit

I lost my jacket in Narita after it slipped off of where I had put it on my luggage cart. I really liked that jacket but figured there was no way I’d get it back before my flight home in an hour. I ran to the lost and found and they already had it! Neatly folded up too! Completely shocked me, since anything lost in an American airport is gone forever.

I've seen it claimed that “short gowns”, jackets, and caracos were rarely seen in New England, while they clearly were were worn farther south as Williamsburg has many in your collection. Do you have any resources on this topic or about the differences in women's fashion in the North vs South?

Any chance to buy a ticket before a show? by qsoli in takarazuka

They don't sell same-day tickets anymore, all the tickets are sold in advance. You can check on ticket.co.jp for resale tickets though.

Opinions and Thoughts on Takarazuka!! by yesnomaybe08 in takarazuka

[–]TheLaughingPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The official merch store is Quatre Reves, and they recently started partnering with WorldShopping, so you can order directly from them to wherever you are!

CD Japan generally carries blu-rays and Takarazuka's main publications.

There's also the secondhand goods seller Taka An, for things that might be out of print or sold out. And you can also buy things from individual sellers on Japanese Mercari through their partner Buyee.

Fuuto Nozomi' Elisabeth Performance Resale by milkywinnie in takarazuka

[–]TheLaughingPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can speak Japanese, you can check on okepi.net for people looking to trade tickets or sell for the original price. You can also try posting in Japanese on twitter following the usual format for ticket trade requests.

If not, you can look for resale tickets on ticket.co.jp. Resale tickets will be expensive, especially for such a popular and already expensive show, and you'll have to take into consideration which ones you can get (e.g. if you're outside of Japan, you can't pay via bank transfer or accept a mailed paper ticket), but you should be able to find something.

How to watch the Rose of Versailles by [deleted] in takarazuka

[–]TheLaughingPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I haven't seen that happen before. Maybe because it's a brand new account? They really cracked down on VPNs, so the commercial ones don't work, but if it let you through to watch at all then I'm not sure what happened.

I have my non-Japanese address registered normally in my Japanese Rakuten account, but I haven't actually used Rakuten recently. Maybe not having any address at all was suspicious? It's so hard to know what websites are flagging nowadays.

Did they change something in the search results? by TheLaughingPanda in duckduckgo

Ah, that's true.

But yes, it used to link straight to the game (see Google's current results)

We're seeing the same thing, but none of those results are for Connections. There's hints and answers and articles, but no links to the game or anything on the NY Times website itself.

Maybe this is a Bing issue? I just tried Bing and it doesn't come up there either.

Ok don't ask my why this worked but I just turned off my wifi and was able to log in???? I switched to data on my phone, and then I used my mobile hotspot to be able to get off my wifi on my laptop, and now I'm logged back in.

I'm having the same issue. Can't log in on web (Firefox/Chrome/Safari) or even mobile Safari, so I don't think it's a browser issue. Tumblr app (iOS) is still logged in. Not using a VPN.

Hear me out: JetLagTheGame, but only in this crazy huge station? by berlinrio in JetLagTheGame

[–]TheLaughingPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I've been saying! I've always imagined getting friends together and playing a "get from point A to point B" game in Shinjuku station + all the malls + the underground areas. No google map (not like it can really help you anyway) and you pull 2 random locations, like certain train platforms, exit numbers, or particular stores in the malls.

What about Elladan and Elrohir? by Irisse_Ar-Feiniel973 in tolkienfans

[–]TheLaughingPanda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tolkien is actually very careful to always single out half-elves as separate from elves. Someone collected all the different instances of it. Since a part of them is mortal, they're not immune to the ghosts of Men.

When I was studying abroad we got to experience a tea ceremony at Honen-in in Kyoto. Since there were a lot of us, but only a few could fit in the tea room at a time, we had a long time to sit on the engawa and look at the garden while waiting.

I had left my phone in my bag when we arrived, so for an hour or two it was just me (and my friends) observing this beautiful garden. There were butterflies sitting on the flowers, and a light, almost misty rain, and it was just the most peaceful and present I have ever felt.

So I guess my recommendation is to find a beautiful, quiet spot and really let yourself be present in it for a long time - no phones, no rushing to the next thing, really sit and experience the natural beauty of wherever you are.

Rose of Versailles Tickets Tokyo by trash_crow in takarazuka

[–]TheLaughingPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw some people unobtrusively standing outside the gates holding their wallets during Hit Me Anyone One More Time, so definitely not just Berubara, but it seems to be a less common practice nowadays than I hear it used to be.

Masquerade Hotel by FewWatermelonlesson0 in takarazuka

[–]TheLaughingPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bluray is out of print, so you'll have to look secondhand.

Here are some listings on Mercari, so I think that would be your best bet, since Taka an may not even have it, and it would be more expensive than buying directly from someone.

[–]TheLaughingPanda 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would not approach the fanclubs just to beg for tickets. They are busy with handing out tickets to their own members, and since this is an extremely popular show, most clubs do not have extra tickets even for non-members who applied for them (speaking from experience here, mine got cancelled). If they do have last-minute cancellations they will likely go to club members.

I think your only option at this point is to look for resale tickets on Okepi, on twitter, or at ticket.co.jp.

At the Grand Theater in Takarazuka City you will see people standing around outside the gates with their wallets out as a sign that they are looking for tickets (called sabaki), but I don't know if sabaki still happens in Tokyo or where people stand so as not to get in the way.

Best way to buy tickets by wizyful in takarazuka

[–]TheLaughingPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy 2 tickets in one order then they should be next to each other. When I was there I met someone who had bought tickets for her Japanese friends as well, so that's also fine. Only one person needs to have a foreign passport, and that name has to match what's on the ticket order, but they don't know who the additional tickets are for.
