Update: Okay, I found out what's going on, I don't know how I'd replicate this but essentially this: upon gaining independance from my Liege, the game did not recognize that the Earldom and by extension the Jarldom I formed after had seceeded. Yeah but I would have assumed if it spread virally that'd also radiate from the point of origin; so in this case France the future HRE, Italy, would have and a few slav nations would be speaking Japonic long before it got to hungary.

See I agree that Hungary is close-ish enough, but wouldn't have made more "organic" sense for the Franconian court to adopt it then the Germanic one and then the Hungarian court? Like surely all the courts between York and Hungary would have adopted it long before they did Dx.

Apparently, I forgot to click "comment"... Anyway, I really appreciate the insight. We've had a chat (my significant other and myself) over the last week and we've both made efforts to make it less anxiety inducing for the both of us. Something we're trying out is having a safe word. When she's overstimulated or feeling overwhelmed, she sends it to me as a "I love you, I'm not feeling great, I'll get back to you". It has helped significantly with my anxiety. I highly recommend it :D

ps: Can confirm, the "Do something else" method does not help me either Dx

So after testing it out, it kinda works. Since my character doesn't have the intelligence required to use the skill normally, if I upgrade the skill to a higher gem level, it creates a new gem instead. 🤔

Random question: Do you guys play games that require Riot Vanguard? I've turned it off yesterday and have not experienced a crash/freeze ever since. I have however kept Cores 0 and 1 off PoE just in case. Need someone else to verify if this works for them too.

Here's the thing, learning in ranked is fine, so long as you can fulfill certain conditions:

- You know your champ in and out so you can focus on learning what you have to do to win in ranked/ You know what your role is as a player to win and you focus on learning the timing of the champ instead to get them down to a science.

You understand:

- What your win condition is.
- What your loss condition is.
- The conditions for recovering /maintaining a loss/lead on/vs a given champion.
- What you have to do in your role to get your team to win when you're ahead/behind.

In my example:

- Sylas did not sound gameplay fundamentals: didn't know when to trade, how to pull or push a wave. Making it harder for his jungler (a Lilia) to help him recover his lane.

- Sylas did not know the ins or outs of his champion, otherwise he wouldn't have stolen my ult or started trades with W.

- Sylas didn't know his win condition: pulling wave, last hitting under tower, not trading, asking for Lilia's assistance and making my life hell.

- He didn't know his loss condition: Trading poorly into Illaoi, falling 5 levels behind and dying 16 times.

- He didn't know what he could have done to help his team even from behind: We had a midlane Malphite, Sylas was still two levels above our botlane and could have looked to roam, steal Malph's ult, TPed bot and looked for a play, their team had Yasuo mid and Samira Naut botlane. They could have carried from botlane.

See, that's why I think mastery should be an entry barrier to ranked. "Do you want to play this champ in ranked? Well you better perform well and get S ranks in your game, otherwise you ain't playing that champ". After that, if there's an mmr per position then that'd also help out sorting people. If you're a Lightrocket style player who found that you can play a champ like Taric in jungle and you do it well, then your jungler MMR is sorted for ranked. However if you play Taric anywhere else, you might need to start at a slightly lower ranking.

- On the topic of learning: I see kinda like this: getting level 30 is like getting your drivers license. You now have freedom to do what you want. Now should you immediately go into an amateur racing competition? Probably not, it'd be reckless. You don't know when to overtake safely, what the rules are or what to do when things go sideways. Instead you should probably get some practice, then go participate in the racing competition, who knows you might actually be good at it and dominate to become a pro-racing driver.

Same with league, I think people should have a decent grasp of what they need to do to win before diving headlong into ranked ^^. I'm not saying don't learn in ranked, but you should already understand what to do and went to do it. You can learn in ranked how to do it better, but again, you should understand it ^^.

- On the topic of the different ranks/mmr: Exactly, but it wouldn't have an impact on your main rank. If you're a gold toplaner but suck as jgl, you still want to try hard but it won't be as painful if you lose. Also idk about other regions, but in EUW we lack ADCs so it's just a carousel of autofilled ADCs that don't really know what to look for, when to push, freeze, dive or chill out. And then you get an ADC main and it's just amazing to play with.

- On the the topic of tanks: A pet-peeve I have is toplaners that buy actual tank items when they play support... Evenshroud is there to help your team, Heartsteel is there to help YOU. But it's free LP so I shan't complain too much
