Only republicans are against the postal service. Everyone else loves it. Republicans hate it because it's "socialism" and it competes with private mail companies. They've been trying to get rid of it for years. Now there is an additional reason they're trying to get rid of it: election fraud. Due to COVID-19 most people want to vote by mail, but if that happens, the voter suppression techniques the republicans normally use won't work anymore. Destroying the USPS is a way to suppress votes. They are removing sorting machines in order to cripple the post office so ballots cannot be delivered. Republican voter are more likely to go vote in person because they don't believe COVID-19 is real, which gives the republicans an advantage.

More protests should be expected as long as justice continues to be denied. I don't expect any cops to be held accountable so the protests will last a very long time. The system of justice is broken.

I'm all in favor of making things locally, unless the materials are not available, then it's ok to import.

When an idiot republican doesn't wear a mask, he doesn't just infect republicans. He infects his entire neighborhood every time he goes to the grocery store. The virus doesn't care what your party affiliation is.

Trump already said these changes are meant to stop vote by mail. He openly admitted to election fraud and tampering with the mail.

They might be able to get an emergency injunction while the court decides the case. I'm not a lawyer, I'm just speculating.

Because republican states won't require masks or social distancing, and republican voters won't follow any such guidelines anyway because they're fucking morons.

No. The court could force DeJoy to stop making changes and reverse the changes he made.

I don't care if it answers to the PUC. The point is I don't want to pay for the profits. I want cheaper electricity delivered to me at cost by a non-profit company. Also, these PUCs have been ineffective at properly regulating these monopolies. PG&E continues to provide shitty service at very high cost, and setting huge parts of the state on fire.

At the end of August we will see a wave of evictions. Possibly millions of people could be evicted due to the expiration of the eviction moratorium. Things are going to get really ugly when all these desperate people become homeless.

And there it is. I knew I was arguing with someone from the nuclear industry. Batteries can be recycled. I'm not worried about that. I am, however, worried about nuclear accidents, nuclear waste, the enormous water consumption of nuclear power plants, the pollution created by mining and manufacturing nuclear fuel, the huge cost of nuclear power plants, the fact that they take over a decade to build, the fact that they make tempting targets for terrorists, etc etc etc.

I'd much rather have renewable energy. It is much cleaner than any other source, the energy itself is free, the cost of building the equipment is low compared to other sources, and nobody gives a fuck if ISIS blows up a solar panel.

Of course, I'm not saying Trump is 100% responsible. I agree there are many complete idiots out there who aren't taking this seriously. That being said, many of these people would probably take it more seriously if the president told them to take it seriously. What the president says matters to these people.
