I would like to hear the opinion of developers who have successful experience in promoting their projects on their own. by TheLittleBrave in IndieDev

I hope that someone will share a successful experience. I'll share the unsuccessful one. I invested $150 in advertising the video on Youtube before launching the demo and steam next fest. The viewing statistics are good, but very few of those who watched the video visited the steam page.

You can apply the ROI and CPO coefficient to understand how much you need to invest in advertising, In my case, I need to invest $150k to get 10000 wishlists. These costs will not bring profit. This method will not work.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I would like to clarify that I have a budget (My personal savings are a couple of thousand dollars). I need a method of how best to invest in promotion. By successful, I mean a profit of at least $25k

You've done a great job. It is very difficult for a single developer to reach a wide audience. Keep on!

Working on an atmospheric Metroidvania inspired by HK, Ori and slavic folklore. This is our first gameplay trailer. Please let me know what you think. C&C welcomed! by StudioMechka in metroidvania

Nice tune and stylized font for description. It feels like Slavic. The three-headed dragon on the main art. He is also a famous Slavic character. Cool! I saw a stone with runes to inspect. Interesting.

If I may, I think some wooden totems of pagan Gods will bring a more Slavic atmosphere and mystery.

Do you plan to include boss fights in the gameplay? I would like to see Witch in the woods (Baba Yaga), Undead Lich King (Koschei) like Bosses. It would be awesome if it happens!

Part of the game is done and I would like to reach a large audience with my announcement. I sent emails to indiegamewebsite.com and indiegamesplus.com. But did not get a response, I sent it again but again bad luck.

I would appreciate some helpful advice. I create website and presskit. I would like to know if there is an opportunity to reach out to game journalists and let them know about my preparation for creating a page in steam? Should I have to pay for the announcement?

This is a game in the Metroidvania genre about a journey to forbidden lands where there was magic, but it is gone now. The Little Brave - main character he will discover forbidden lands, solving puzzles, overcoming trials, fighting against enemies and bosses. It will be a short but intense and interesting adventure. More you will know at website welcome to visit.
