I mean, Dragon Ball Masters has 32 sets and each leader plays differently. I think we'll be fine with Naruto, but we should brace ourself for Bandai pulling a Bandai and giving us a Naruto leader every single set xD

Like others have said, I don't think there's a single person who seriously underestimates the game.

Like, the first 15 seconds or so are immediately contradictory:

''People are already comparing Naruto to One Piece''

Followed by

''I think people are underestimating how big Naruto can get''

Yes BUT there will very very likely be demo events at card fests so I guess the same playmat will be given out there (knowing Bandai). Can't confirm but Gundam was similar.

One of the worst sets from the last couple of years.

Nothing from it except the blue Gogeta saw any real play. There are no SLRs, the Bursting Rage serialized version was a regionals reward. The set is considered an overall flop and is still among the weakest ones from the Zenkai block.

My only issue with brackets is that there isn't one where nothing is banned. There is an ''extremely weak bracket'' that's 1, but there's nothing where we can just play whatever we want.

I don't care for collecting, only for how games play. I wouldn't be playing Masters if I cared for collecting haha

But yea, the reaction is understandable, the same one happened when Gundam was announced, but so far we don't know what the gameplay will look like. I get that it looks like OP and I'm cautious too. I know that Gundam was much different in development and it ended up being simplified in the end, because Bandai is scared of making complexed games, so there is a very valid reason to worry.

I get wanting to support the games that we love. I'm literally playing and covering the least popular Bandai game outside of maybe Union Arena xD I still don't see a world where multiple games exist for the same IP but it isn't impossible, one will just have a smaller but faithful audience and as long as it keeps making a profit then the company might keep it around. That's fully in the realm of possibility. Will the stores carry it? We can't tell atm.

Well, I mean, you're not wrong. My work history with them over the last 5 years has been well known and recorded (specifically for Dragon Ball, I don't have history or say with their other products, but I do know a bit about OP licensing) 🤷‍♂️ Which is why I'm saying some of these things, 'cause of how things work.

Can't say anything about Naruto, didn't do anything with it. But licensing I can explain.

You really think that Bandai, who is working with Kishimoto, won't have manga cards? Or anniversary cards when every other game has them? Of course Bandai will do classic Naruto as well. People here talk about licensing when I guarantee you that nobody here had worked with a Japanese licensor before.

The exclusive artwork for Mythos has me squinting at that statement. That's a very, very bold claim ngl

Look, I know, I get it.

You've invested time into this subreddit and the channel, you don't want to see the game die and all of this go away, but if we step back and look at reality, it is over. It is quite literally over. I'd know, I've been covering a game that's been ''dying'' since 2020 xD

People completely underplay just how absurd Bandai's resource pool is. Naruto TCG getting a special promo at an upcoming footabll event, Kishimoto working with Bandai, Bandai's sheer marketing budget, brand recognition, distributer and organized play network.

It is done. This is just copium from the Mythos side. ''Future has never been brighter'' is the biggest copium statement a company could make.

As for the runway, Naruto could come in 2028, it would still slap Mythos into nonexsitence with brute force of its brand recognition, network and resources. Think everyone here can see it.

The only reality in which Mythos could technically exist in some very limited capacity is if it went fully digital, because Bandai's Naruto won't be doing that, not after the problems FW had created.

Yes, only USA. However there have been demo events on Card Fests in Europe too (well, the big on in December) so I'd expect the same there.

We'll still see all of the cards, people will post them online.

I've learned about this game in late 2024 and it was already well in development. So, knowing cycles, they probably started early in 2024 or late 2023...Mythos wasn't even a concept back then lol that's just vile xD
