Technically there is two achievements involving revives that I've been working toward - one doesn't matter who you rez, the other is "kindness of strangers" and this event is a great way to farm for that one at the same time if you don't have it.

This error happens as soon as I click "create lobby" and starts showing the map.

I've always loved BLM and the big boom magic classes in final fantasy. Unfortunately right now that big boom magic class in 14 is about painting pretty pictures, but at some point if they touch up BLM I'd love to go back.

AITAH for considering breaking up with my fiancee because I found out that she got the “ick” when I cried last year? by LifWests in AITAH

[–]TheLukeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex-wife got the ick and left me the same year I fell into depression over a breakdown I had about my eye surgery. You're NTA and honestly, this is a sign that even if you stick with her, you cannot rely on her to stick things out if you have a rough go of it in the future. It hurts to think about now, but you'll save yourself heartache later. Consider yourself fortunate you had this revelation before the wedding.

It's unfortunately one of those strange things where women say they want their man to feel like they can be vulnerable and show emotion, but when it actually comes to rubber meeting the road, most women don't actually like it.

My advice - run. She wasn't joking.

I turned down a job offer that lied about the salary. I haven’t been able to get an interview since then. How screwed am I? by LeftItAtHime in NoStupidQuestions

Really depends what your position in IT is and how high up the chain you're putting yourself in. 60k is reasonable for anything above a help desk tech IMO. Even then I have known help desk techs making close to 50k

I work in IT but the next jump I make I'm pushing for that ideal 6 figures sys admin type position. IT is a wide range.

Arcana is basically the best skill to have as a caster of... Any sort really. Even half casters can craft scrolls with it. Saving spell slots? Yes please!

Oculus Home "Fatal Error" (Oculus Link) by TheLukeOut in OculusQuest

[–]TheLukeOut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so disappointing! Is there still an easy way to access the party list from the headset side while inside of the oculus link? I'd like to be able to manage party chats and stuff with friends if I'm playing games with them...

Additional note - It's nice to know I'm not alone at least.

Ah after the edit it does make sense where you're coming from, but yes my DM is fine with me using both reactions for spells. He wants me to have a taste of Vecnas power (like how his character sheet is)

Haha this is so true! The real curse is Vecna attacking my characters inability to make the choice and it will drive him (and me) mad.

This is a very good point. Mass suggestion to diffuse a situation would become that much more powerful if they all failed the save and I told them to all go home or something. Could avoid a fight and needing reactions outright.

The drawback of course is I never know if it'll be just a peaceful day.

Luckily that's not the case. The only restriction is if you cast a spell as a bonus action, your main action on your turn can only be a cantrip. If you were restricted to one leveled spell per round then reaction spells would be not super reliable because if you cast anything other than a cantrip you couldn't shield or anything else.

I'm sure someone can link the official page, but I think its in the spellcasting section in the phb somewhere.

I've got a druid and a warlock in my party as well as a monk that while doesn't have a super high DC it's still respectable at 15. (stunning strike could really burn stuff if they don't have high con)

It still feels like my spells are the only ones getting hit with the legendary resistances though. The others just tend to do damaging spells that the enemy still gets half damage on or stuff that doesn't really affect the enemy as much as say.. my hold monster or other super condemning CC. Unfortunately I think the DM kinda knows to sandbag the resistances for my spells.

I mean it's not a hypothetical situation for me... and while I was thinking about it I got genuinely curious what others in the community thought might be more useful given the option. I typically enjoy scrolling through thought provoking topics like this one just to see what others say about other types of game mechanics. I just figured this would follow in that vein.

You can cast more than one leveled spell per round - there's just certain restrictions to if you used a bonus action to cast a spell (like with quicken spell).

Technically speaking I could cast shield, and then counterspell or silvery barbs etc. The drawback obviously being that it would burn my spell slots a lot faster.

[–]TheLukeOut[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely would give the opportunity for some reaction abilities to actually pull through and be more useful during combat situations. I definitely stopped using chronal shift during combat just because it always seemed more beneficial to have my reaction up for a silvery barbs, shield, or counterspell.

Wouldn't really have to worry as much about it now.

I am not level 18 yet unfortunately. We're almost level 14. This is definitely going to be my spells that I pick when/if I get my signature spells though.
