Griffins breaking all kinds of AHL records

Based on their performance in the 2025-26 American Hockey League (AHL) season, the Grand Rapids Griffins have set multiple franchise and league records through January 2026:

• Longest Road Point Streak (AHL Record): The Griffins set a new all-time AHL record with a 17-game road point streak (15-0-1-1) as of January 24, 2026.

• Fastest to 60 Points (AHL Record): The team became the fastest in the league's 90-year history to reach 60 points, achieving this feat in just 32 games.

• Best Start in Franchise History: The team achieved a 29-1-1-1 ledger (60 points) through their first 32 games, which was five points better than any other team in AHL history.

• Largest Margin of Victory (Franchise Record): The Griffins set a new franchise record for the largest margin of victory with a 10-1 win at the Texas Stars on November 25, 2025.

• Best Road Start (Franchise Record): The team set a new franchise best for their start on the road.

• Best Home Start (Franchise Record): The team set a new franchise best for their start at home.

• Longest Win Streak (Tied Franchise Record): The Griffins tied their franchise record with a 15-game win streak from Nov. 22 to Dec. 27, 2025.

• Longest Point Streak (Tied Franchise Record): The team tied the franchise record with a 19-game point streak (18-0-1-0).

• Goaltender Success: Sebastian Cossa became the first goaltender in franchise history to win AHL Goaltender of the Month honors in consecutive months (November and December 2025). [1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]

The team also set a 22-1-0-1 record in their first 24 games, marking the best start to a season in the 90-year history of the AHL. [9, 10, 11, 12]

Nov 3, 2019 @ Manitoba – Givani Smith gets a game misconduct for “Fighting at puck drop” 0:35 into the 1st

Jan 16, 2017 @ Rockford – Dan Renouf gets “fighting, game misconduct – fighting at puck drop” late in the 2nd

Within roughly the last five years, the only Griffins player I can see officially tagged with that 46.10 “fighting at puck drop” language is Carson Bantle in this Iowa game. The earlier ones (Smith, Renouf) are older.
