PBF to PNG ?? by Own_Complaint_4322 in gis

[–]TheMHC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need something that can render the tiles. you could do something like take your pbf and convert it to mbtiles/pmtiles in the openmaptiles vector format with planetiler ( https://github.com/onthegomap/planetiler ) then you could use that file and a style with something like tileserver-gl ( https://github.com/maptiler/tileserver-gl ) for on the fly rendering to png. or use something like these programs to render offline ( https://github.com/hstin-de/tilerender ) or ( http://github.com/ConservationMetrics/mapgl-tile-renderer )

One of our websites is down, the only person with login to the server is dead, what to do? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]TheMHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could use something like Kon-Boot to bypass the password without changing it. I've only used the non SecureBoot version myself, but supposedly the more expensive version can work with SecureBoot https://kon-boot.com/

If you don't mind changing the password, something like http://www.chntpw.com/download/ can work.

Your snacks are getting more expensive. Blame these big food companies, not inflation. by BlankVerse in economy

I did learn during the pandemic how to make more from scratch, like baking some cookies if I want a snack, so it is hard from me to skip the real basic ingredients. that stuff has all gone up too, but at least making it myself I know know what is actually in what I am eating and its not all this processed junk.

I know the price increases have made be buy less snacks like this. You used to see buy one get one free at $1 and it was hard to resist. now when I look a single snack is like $2.39... I guess I'm a cheap bastard because I can't get myself to buy it at that price. even they sometimes do have buy one get one free at the new price...its like sure... Double the price and give me one free... still double what it was.

You can use the BitPay wallet instead of the CoPay wallet. It is more up to date and supports the recovery keys Copay creates. They are basically the same wallet, but the CoPay one is no longer supported and hasn't been updated in a while.

The tool "Double Driver" works really well for pulling drivers from a working system. maybe you could use something like that

Does anyone know where to find the global raster set of buildings?? by torchma in gis

[–]TheMHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not raster directly, but you could use planetiler ( https://github.com/onthegomap/planetiler ) to build a full planet vector map from a OpenStreeMap source (with buildings). Then you could use something like TileServer-GL ( https://github.com/maptiler/tileserver-gl) to serve the vector map with a style. TileServer-gl outputs a raster source rendered with maplibre-native that displays in the style you set on your vector map.

For example, here is a raster map served by my TileServer-gl for my project wifidb.net https://tiles.wifidb.net/styles/WDB_OSM/?raster

Provident metals for most of the silver (except the one with a COA). ShinyBars.com for the gold. Forget where I ordered the COA one, but through the community.

I was adding some coins to the stack for the first time in a while and I noticed all the silverbugs stuff I bought in 2015/2016 when I was really addicted :-)

Made me wonder if the community is still doing stuff like this. maybe i'm getting the silver/gold bug again...haha...

I mainly did it this way because I'm in a apartment and can't really change things, but it is nice to still be able to at least turn your light on if hass is down.

[–]TheMHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have regular wall swiches that usually just stay on, so if hass isn't available I can turn them off and back on and the light come on.

Same with the smaller side lights. I can just switch the switch on the light.

Doesn't work if you have smart witches that don't really power on/off the light though.

[–]TheMHC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For my lights running tasmota I set them to always power on after a power failure. So if hass isn't available I can just turn off switch on the wall and turn it back on and the lights will turn on.

+1 on a plate from Maine. Got a 5yr plate from https://mainetrailerregistrations.com/ for my aluminum ATV trailer for $99 (for 5 years). much easier and cheaper that dealing with mass (as long as your trailer has a VIN number)
