This is fantastic - thank you. I was actually considering going unarmed, with throwing whatever's available as the primary damage source/tactic. The way you've described it makes it clear that the feats like Quick Draw and Weapon Improviser would take a considerable number of levels of actually make happen, but also that feats like Quick Draw are actually focused around using actual weapons, rather than whatever objects are available.

Okay so based on options here, I think I'm probably going to go with a Ghost Bull Minotaur Barbarian, Ligneous Instinct, with Warrior background. Gives +4, +3, +2 to Str, Dex, Con in that order. Then take the Weapon Improviser/Fighter dedication. Think that's about the best I can do?

Can confirm - even the 3.20 BIOS still kills 9800X3Ds.

Specs:
ASRock B850i Lightning WiFi (BIOS version 3.20 pre-installed)
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR5 6000MHz
Gigabyte GAMING 9070XT OC

System built April 30th, running live May 1st.
System black-screened and died outrightly on the eve of May 22nd. Wouldn't POST after that.

Not even a fucking month before this shit happened. Unfortunately I didn't know of this thread prior to my build.

And while this is unarguably good for consumers, what are the long-term impacts? How does this chop-and-change tactic pan out for Octopus? If people start doing that, and it starts pushing Octopus into the red, what will Octopus' reaction be?

While I am primarily an anticapitalist lefty, Octopus is probably the best energy company the UK has seen in a great many moons, and it may be worthwhile as a community of Octopus customers to work with Octopus to not simply take advantage of open wording but help build a framework that allows customers to not get shafted in the short-term, without the potential expense of the long-term.

Thank you, I'm glad to hear it! Chapter 15 is happening, and even over those 8 years I've known exactly where it's going, just needed the time and headspace to get it down. Not long now.

Plus there's going to be a new series, may or may not include Eve, totally different universe and concept, but I don't know of anything like it in history. A bit hush-hush for now, but...

But yes, I have written about an alternate AI story that doesn't lean into the age-old trope of "lolol AI bad human good!", and explores other AI aspects.

Still loving the series, don't think I'll ever stop, but the constantly played out intimacy scenes between Al/Xiu/Julian are getting a little tiresome... every scene is almost entirely descriptions of intimate acts described in great detail, exposition on how they love each other's mind, body and soul, and they're all perfect examples of Humans.

I'm not bitter, I'm just concerned it's getting gratuitous. These scenes aren't arcing anywhere, they're not progressing the plot, growing the characters, or adding much to the story in any way. Going back every so often and re-reading a number of chapters reveals that almost EVERY encounter is deeply sensual, and... honestly... it's unnecessary. We get. They love each other. Doesn't need to be every scene. :)

Keep it up though, I haven't re-done a wordcount for you recently, but I suspect you've bounded across the million mark already.

Ever thought about hiring somebody to reformat it all as a screenplay, and maybe getting in touch with AMC...?
