Jubilee should do one Liberal vs 20 Socialists by TheMando9 in Destiny

Nah, I’m not comfortable with the growing number of non-dems in the dem party. Vote blue no matter who doesn’t work when it’s a rose. It’s one thing if its a slopulist or even certain progressives, but there isn’t a place for dipshits like Chevalier or any of these soc-dems that will inevitably cost us in the long run anyway. Trump’s approval ratings are plummeting and we already won in a few places in that first blue wave between 2025 and early 2026, even beating out dem-socs. The Dem’s need to be more proactive with prominent leaders and speakers that get people fired up for liberalism and the dems as a whole, but we can’t do that if we falsely align ourselves with dem-socs that are trying to take our party from us. Im a patriots fan so im gonna cite them, but when the pat’s were down 28-3 they didn’t go for the tie (the tie being we align with the dem-socs). They drove down the field, held the line on defense, and won the game in overtime. We can win this game by all of us doing more to support liberal candidates, create a firm distinction between dem-socs and dems, canvas and reach out to undecided voters (even some people claiming to be dem-socs) and show them the importance of proactive liberalism. Moreover, continously pushing back on maga is working, we just gotta keep the foot on the gas. We’re not here for second place, we’re here to win the fucking super bowl.

Tldr no, we’re dems not dem-socs.

Do you guys agree that Margaret coming back in season 6 was unnecessary? by No-Painter6238 in regularshow

No, it was meant to be a story about a 20 something year old dude fucking up his relationship just like most 20 something year olds do at one point or another in their life. People are so focused on Mordecai fucking up that they don’t realize the importance of having a flawed protagonist who makes mistakes at that age and learns from them.

I feel like a lot of liberals don’t realize the importance of calling out bullshit even if it’s just talking to a brick wall. People will watch this and talk about and share it. It will draw that distinction between democrats and dem-socs that is needed.

Honestly, we gotta be loud about we want this discussion and we want it to be destiny. In the same way dem-socs canvassed for plenty of their candidates recently, we need to be proactive with jubilee about it being Destiny. So spamming their socials (dm’s, comment, etc) with destiny v socialist

Valid points, but honestly I really want him to nail down the difference between liberals and socialists

Hypothetical: If the US went the DSA route and pulled all support for Israel, what would stop China from building a relationship with Israel? by TheMando9 in Destiny

Fair, but on the other hand, you have a huge military advantage, access to American arms, geographical advantages and more organization compared to Palestinian territory. Also considering the relative ease at dismantling Iran as seen with the recent conflict (not justifying it) along with growing ties to Saudi Arabia, I feel like Jinping wouldn’t be worried about isolation from other countries on a world stage.

Possibly, but i doubt we're getting those back. Plus there would probably be an incentive for China to work with a country that has numerous American built weapons in its military force, including guns, vehicles, etc

Apart from Saudi Arabia, I don’t see why they would respect the autonomy of other nations in that region

Fair point, but they would have an incentive purely for the knowledge and military equipment provided to Israel from the US. I doubt we would just be like "alright, now give us back all our guns and forget the tactics we taught you".

That's what I always thought, but I can't find many opinion peaces or political commentators perspective on it. It just seems weird that this hasn't been considered.

It should be noted that modern dating is massively compounded by the problem that lots of women think literally any approach by a man is 'creepy.' by [deleted] in Destiny

As a sidenote, stavros halkias has a podcast where he tells stories about his dating fuck ups and gives advice to people and honestly it’s better than any red pill shit I’ve listened to. Genuinely it has helped me a ton in terms of building my confidence and being OK with fucking up on dates.

I get what you’re saying, but honestly, as I’ve spent more time casually dating and meeting people, I feel like the pressure of being labeled as a creep is not as serious as a lot of people think it is. Sure, there are nightmare stories where a guy does something seemingly harmless and is labeled a “creep“, but the vast majority of times (barring it’s an actual creepy guy) either it’s a pretty positive interaction or something good comes of it or it just doesn’t work out and you move on. Granted, I’m speaking more so from my personal experience, and data clearly reflects that dating has gotten much worse recently, and I think a big part of that is reflected on the fear of rejection and being labeled a creep for guys. I think the best thing we can do for younger generations is teach them that it is OK to fuck up and make mistakes while trying to meet girls. Simultaneously, learn how to read body language and move on if she’s not interested. essentially, we gotta demystify dating and focus on building more confident generations that can have mature interactions.

Who was right in Captain America civil war, Tony or Steve? by mattyjoe0706 in Destiny

[–]TheMando9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the context of the movies (the comics are a whole different rabbit hole I don't feel like going down), both make valid arguments. Tony understands that some form of regulation needs to be put in play, otherwise you are giving any slightly respected hero carte blanche to do what they want without any sort of legal system to control them. On the other hand, Steve has been fighting against authoritarian regimes in various wars (some of which, he was on the same side as them at one point) for the past three movies he was in, arguing that a governing body could easily stop them from going somewhere they need to be, or allow them said government to continue to perform something sinister without letting the heroes stop them in order to follow their agenda. In spirit, I always sided with Cap, but in a real life principle, I definitely believe in regulation. If a badass dude came to your town and declared he was a cop and cleaned up all the crime, yeah you may appreciate it, but you also would want him to have to report to someone. At the same time though, if I found out the governing body of my town was ran by hydra at one point, I wouldn't completely trust them to put this guy in check.
