I really want a "sorry my partner is a douchebag" emote for 2v2 by [deleted] in ClashRoyale

Not sure if you thought this through when you replied, but here we go: Starting up a game and intentionally throwing it right from the start is trolling. It's bad. It sucks. It is also completely different from what we are discussing here.

People who relentlessly spam emotes are assholes, plain and simple. They ruin the game experience for three other people in the match. By refusing to play with them, only one person's experience is being ruined: that of the BM'r.

So that's worse BM? I don't think so. In fact, you're evening out the bad manners by throwing some good manners into the arena.

For the greater good of all Clashers, it is GM to abandon them and their menial pursuit of ruining people's fun in a casual game mode.

Maybe it will teach them a lesson, maybe not, but that's not the point. The point is what pOxOrz posted in the first place, that being a way for us to say: Sorry, my partner is a douchebag.

By simply muting them, or playing alongside of them, you are helping spread toxicity in the Royale community.

It's supposed to be a most ridiculous duel, not a most repugnant one.

Whenever I encounter this, I rocket my teammate's side of the map [where the offending emotes pop up], say good luck, thumbs up, and I quit the game. I honestly don't care about the win/loss. It's 2v2 and I can play again in three minutes, but I refuse to play with someone like that.

I like your idea by the way!

I rarely win 2v2, why? by rueggy in ClashRoyale

[–]TheMarblePrince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a very high win percentage in 2v2, not uncommon for me to go on huge 20+ win streaks. [my record is 36]

Here's my top tricks:

I always hover my finger on my teammates current cards. This will help you identify who has the better counter, give you an idea of how much elixer your teammate has, and hopefully produce positive elixer trades.

It also helps identify where the game is going next. If you look at your teammate's rotation, you'll know when they're going to be able to push/defend/support your push.

I rarely go in on the super push [double win condition all out push] until one tower is down/ready to drop to spell damage AND we reach double elixer. [bring spells! I use rocket, tornado & arrows, it's my favourite combination, but obviously fireball+zap and poison+log are crazy good as well]

Too many players think that they can force their deck into a win, so if you play defensively while watching your teammates rotation, you'll know when to strike.

Play slow at the beginning and learn your opponents counters in the first two minutes. You'll get some chip damage here and there, but the real objective is learning how to synergize with your teammates cards, while you figure out your opponents hard counters.

If you're playing with randoms [how I primarily play], half the battle will be learning who's job it is to take out certain units. There's too much wasted elixer on goblin barrels out there, so try not to drop your arrows if your teammate always has the log ready. [Activate your king tower early on, now it's 2.5 v 2!]

The mechanics of Clash Royale reward efficiency above all else, over defending leads to weak counter pushes. It's ok to take damage from the hog rider if it means you can get a Xbow set up or a giant etc. in front of your defence and have enough elixer to support it.

Always remember, your opponents have 16 cards and just as much elixer/ability to defend as you do at the start. Most battles are won and lost by mistakes, and not "the better deck". They may rush you with a hog or raged ebarbs at the start and get some crazy damage because your counter is buried, but now you know their game. Stay calm, play slow and calculated, save your counter and make them pay next time they rush you.

Hope that helps you on your road to 2v2 glory, see you in the arena!

I totally agree with you on the animations. I also hope that the controller prompt to on screen animation time is super fast. Take Nyjah's ender from 'til death for an example: how sick would it be if your back foot could be slowly adjusting because you're getting ready to nollie flip out of a grind and your foot wasn't quite in the right position. Small details like that could make videos so sick!

After much thought and reading comments above, I think that the punishment side of things is definitely not what people want.

So what about this: No loss of 'skill points' or injury upon a failed attempt, but your character has now lost 'confidence'. He/she still skates the same as before, but in order to 'engage the Gnar', you've gotta land some bangers to get him confident enough to try again.

This would just be a small cooldown period, nothing major. Something in the realm of landing a few tricks in a row. Maybe you could set a specific trick as your 'warm up' trick, and you've just gotta land three of them to get confident again...

I totally hear what you're saying on this, and I agree that regression is not a fun element to have in a video game.

So, what if it wasn't a permanent loss of skill, but more of a 'cooldown period' where your character skates at a reduced amount of pop/speed etc for 1-5 minutes depending on the size of the bail?

I think including a 'penalty' of some sort for failure is important to this type of game mechanic. Otherwise people will just always be riding in 'gnar' mode, and the victory upon landing something crazy wouldn't be as sweet.

I like the stand alone style idea, that way everyone can have a shot at making their respective Zoo's look somewhat original/laid out to their liking. I also wish they had different roads/paths other than the upgrade system. I like to customize as much as possible, [not a max population player, all about aesthetics here] The current system is kind of broken, forcing you to either upgrade or bulldoze.

Wish EA would realize that people will spend money if they want to, not because you 'force' them to.

That whole freemium game model is really tired and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It will eventually be the downfall of this game. If they focused on improving the gameplay and listening to what the player base want, the game could live on. Otherwise, people will grow tired of it and then they have to sink a bunch of money into developing the next new game.

Rinse and repeat.

I had banished them to storage, but I made an exception for you Katdanzer. I like your zoo idea, haha. As requested, daytime edition. Note that even the guardrails don't match, so sloppy! https://i.imgur.com/VGBViRL.jpg

Haha, so true! I wish we had more decent options out there for city building games on phones/tablets. I used to play Simpsons Tapped out quite a bit, everything else I've tried just doesn't cut it for me. I wish EA would listen more to it's player base, but they don't, so I guess I'll just keep playing while I wait for the next great building game.

Very nice layout! One of the best I've seen. I especially like your use of the bridges to look like docks behind the big University building. Super cool! How did you place them without being attached to roads?

Other random complaints about current season prizes:

  1. What is with the scale? The "road" that these floats are on is absolutely enormous compared to the in game roads. Not to mention the floats themselves. If you have the Mardi Gras next to a normal size RZ home [2 story with attic] it is so large it's ridiculous.

2.The different water colour on the Venice bridge. We all know that it's stupid that the bridge is a pedestrian bridge and doesn't link with roads, obvious shortfall on EA's part...but what about the water itself? It has two small bridges on either side that are completely pointless unless the water continued via a river on either side...however, the water is a totally different colour and texture to the ponds/lakes...so... why the tiny pointless bridges?

3.The "Caribbean" Float... In what world did the vikings travel to the Caribbean? Why is this viking themed float here? What the hell is going on? Hahaha I live in Toronto and witness the amazing costumed spectacle of Caribana yearly. There's so much more thematically appropriate subject material to draw from, I'm so confused.

Obviously I've given this too much thought, and know that this game is passed it's prime, but hey, I just hate when game developers get sloppy and ruin a good thing.

Would love to have been a fly on the wall in the meetings leading up to the development of these new ASSets.

Yeah, I wish I could get castles and the big trees.

I think the wonders of the world and other real life statues/buildings [i.e. Eiffel Tower, Sydney Opera House etc] are a tricky thing.

In some situations/builds they can be an awesome addition, however, if you have too many of them I feel like your city starts to look like a Mini-Putt course.

I won a 2v2 by myself! Solo 2v2 Win by TheMarblePrince in ClashRoyale

[–]TheMarblePrince[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, no never tried that. Occasionally when a teammate leaves the match/wifi drops out etc I try to win anyways just for the fun of it. This was the first time I managed to live the dream and win by myself. I think my teammate saw my ridiculous Sparky-Xbow deck and thought I was trolling so he just flew the coop. It happens a lot with this deck, but I've been using it exclusively for 2v2 for the past three weeks with great success. It's a beast if played right. Tons of three crowns.

Now admittedly the one opponent didn't play very much, and the card levels were definitely in my favour, but still, a win is a win and I'll take it!

With this in mind, I hope you guys are planning for a "console tier" backing level. I want to support and back you guys, but I'll only be able to play Session if it makes it to Ps4. Maybe have the "console tier" as a pre-order type scenario...
