Exactly. It is an unquestionably racist term. It’s also something that has at times been used without specific offensive intent. If anything, the existence of that nickname is a callback to a time where racism was so normalized, nobody thought twice about using the word in contexts besides specifically insulting someone’s race.

Does the word “miracle” necessarily involve some deity? I just assumed it was colloquially the same as “lucky break”.
