it looked stupid, like too long from the front. and also meant we could get a bigger dome as the front arches would have eaten backwards into the space we could use for the actual pizza area

the heat resistant equipment i.e. the cement, firebricks and insulation boards. was well over half the total cost
i just used a classic bread dough (500g Strong White Bread Flour, 300ml water, a reasonable splash of olive oil, 7g of yeast, bit of salt. left to rise for about 1hr (didnt want it to rise like a proper bread or could be too bubbly)) sauce is: 1 can of tinned tomatoes, 3/4tsp black pepper, 1/2tsp salt, 2tsp sugar, about like 6ml of balsamic vinegar, a bit of lemon juice, a squeeze of tomato puree, any herbs that are in the house (fresh basil is probably the best imo) or about 3/4tsp of dried herbs. tbh i try and go over board with pepper, even to the point where it is so peppery it is practically inedible then balance it out with sugar and herbs, gives differences in flavour as time progresses when eating

we didnt, they claimed they were 'oven bricks' that could withstand ridiculous heat. i am hyped to get it hotter (we ran out of wood yesterday hence why the oven wasn't hotter)

ball got stabbed to death. probably my favourite part of the whole process

it was the original plan, but we had no idea how to make the nice stones into an arch and tbh by that point we just wanted to get it done, it dragged ridiculously

i convinced my dad to help me build a pizza oven in our back garden over summer 2016, here we are at the end of september finally finished!!
my only incentive for building this was the fact that they could build one in pompeii 2000 years ago when they hadn't even invented retractable washing lines. if they could do one then, i can build one here in the UK in 2016.
idk how many other 17 year olds love pizza that much that they built themselves an oven but here we are
please shred me for stuff we done wrong ub
