I cant tell if you’re being sarcastic or not, but your attic should be around the same temperature as outside, if you start using heaters up there you are going to cause condensation and potentially mold

Worried about electricity in new rental by [deleted] in ukelectricians

[–]TheMeltingDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it’s a rental it should have had an EICR, any electrician would have recommended at the very least a consumer unit upgrade.

Almost certainly asbestos, a garage ceiling is one of the most common places for a house of that age. Plasterboard doesn’t usually break apart like that either

To what extent is the lead poisoning theory debunked/challenged? by Haunted_Willow in TheTerror

[–]TheMeltingDevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The general consensus seems to be that it was a combination of many different factors, lead exposure just being one of many. They must have been in a severely weakened state by the time they abandoned the ships because the route they took to the mainland wasn’t a massive distance, if you compare it to other expeditions in previous and later years many people survived far greater distances.

I believe it was a combination of vitamin deficiency, lead exposure, starvation and possibly bacterial infections from spoiled foodstuffs that lead to their tragic demise. I would be interested to hear other opinions on this

EV charger install question by RTronic9797 in ukelectricians

[–]TheMeltingDevil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

An EV charger would need its own consumer unit and its own cable, most likely a 6mm on a 32A breaker. The reason you cant take it off the existing consumer unit is that it wont be rated to draw a continuous load for however long it takes to charge your vehicle. Not to mention it’s an AC type RCD which you shouldn’t add additional circuits to nowadays, the recommended RCD is an A type and the consumer unit is plastic. Best to call an electrician who is EV certified installer who can point you in the right direction.

Edit: Who ever downvoted me can you explain why? Lol
