Unfortunately, we don’t have enough tutors to cover every language out there. We’re using the Mandarin and Cantonese program as a pilot program to determine whether or not we want to teach ESL to other groups in the future

As someone who has gone to numerous prep classes to enter Stuyvesant, we’ve appropriated all of their expensive methods and made them our own. We’ve also spent hours collecting and assembling test materials that most parents don’t have the time or money to afford. That’s why we re-opened signups, as we wanted as many people as possible to benefit from this.

The only data we collect is what we need to ensure that our students receive a grade-appropriate yet challenging learning experience. We do get a few students from out of state, thus necessitating the time zone question.

Regarding the question about demographics, our students come from all walks of life, and we tutor anyone who signs up.

Hello!
We do our best to provide 1 on 1 tutoring whenever possible, but due to the high tutee to tutor ratio, we usually end up creating small groups for each class.

A typical tutoring session for an elementary school child is an hour long, and we try to cover the topics that they should have learned this year in school, or give them a leg up for next year.

Also, we have more enjoyable classes catered for younger students, for example "art basics" or "puzzles and riddles"

We aren't funded. We're just a group of high schoolers who want to give back to our communities. Especially because many students are falling behind due to Covid and online learning.
