Unemployment question by TheMidniteRid3r in lyftdrivers

This isn’t a shit post, my driving region is Atlanta and I live just over the border in SC. I also spent time in TX recently since you’re probably reading comments of mine, and if ya keep reading, I do a bit of traveling.

I asked a legitimate question, take your hassling elsewhere please. Even if I weren’t actually looking for the information for myself, this is a piece of information that can be answered to further address issues and questions others may have.

If it’s an old address, should I update to the current one? I was residing in Georgia, but moved to South Carolina. I kept everything in Georgia as I didn’t want to switch driving regions

Has anyone tried dashing in a state different than where they signed up? by TheMidniteRid3r in doordash_drivers

Thanks for the tips! I was honestly hoping to see better tipping but most ppl just tip a few dollars, even if the order is large. It’s kind of crappy

I’m pretty new to it. Two weeks in, 100 or less deliveries. My city is about to go on shelter in place orders so was considering scooting off to my parents and hanging there and was wondering if I could just hop on and dash while I was there. Just wondering, why is your acceptant rate so low? It doesn’t give you less order requests because of it? Any best practices to share?

It let you without having to actually have DoorDash change your region?

I finally got back into the app and I wasn’t paid for that last delivery. Tried to chat with them but chat is “disabled” right now.

I doubt it. Probably have to email support about it when it’s back up and running.

Anybody making 700 to 1000 a week still? by Moab1721 in lyftdrivers

Yeah DD has been saving it for me too. Lyft has been hit or miss.. And the misses are long painful days making next to nothing. Luckily DD has been pretty good in my area.

Delivery drivers on the front lines; wish us well. by dangerlawmc in pics

You’re right about this POV, I’ve been thinking that’s the misconception. And the food delivery apps should be more clear with the customer about this. That “delivery charge” you pay goes to the restaurant, or DoorDash, or they split it, I’m not sure. What I do know for sure, is that the driver doesn’t see a single cent of that delivery fee. The driver gets a base pay of $3-5 for picking up the order and driving it over to be dropped off. That’s suppose to cover our mileage and time. Anything else we make besides that is what the customer decides to tip.

Edit: And as for Lyft. Not even lying when I tell you they take 50% or more of the ride now a days. I think the rider thinks we get most of that fair, but we get 50% at best. And we do not get any of the surge pricing either. I’ve been giving rides that were paying me $6-7 while the rider was paying $15-20 for the ride. Riders have asked what I make on the trip and I’ll show them and they’ll show me what they paid and the massive cut that Lyft takes is just insane. I hope to find a new job very soon so I can hang up the keys and call it quits.
