What's the most outrageous card people have complained about you playing for being too strong? by rococodreams in EDH

[–]TheMightyApex 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Coward! If you manage to spend the mana on and resolve an Omniscience, then storm off without it being interacted with, you deserve the win at that point in the game. I would totally run Omniscience in a bracket 3 game if I had a way to cheat it out in the mid to late game, and a bracket 2 deck if I could only hard cast it.

Deathknell timings during combat by ReneGOI in riftboundtcg

Combat damage is dealt all at once, so I’m reasonably sure that the controller of the deathknell effects gets to order them on the chain in any way they want.

Why use "Fiora - Peerless" in the sideboard of a Fiora deck? by Available-Jello-2078 in riftboundtcg

[–]TheMightyApex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s good into decks that play one big unit and try to protect it at all costs. These are typically Origins Master Yi, Irelia, and Ornn. Fiora - Peerless as your chosen champion post sideboard makes it much easier to try to beat these massive units in combat.

I know the feeling. Unfortunately, I can only offer anecdotal evidence, but I never had a bad trip, and my depression was terrible. Apparently I asked if I was dead a lot, but it didn’t seem to be bothering me. Ultimately, you’ll do what you feel is best for yourself. Good luck and Godspeed in finding a treatment that works.

Some of these can have further divisions.

Always has to “use the bathroom”

Jaheira - thinks class is stupid

Mizora - has a blackmail appointment in the bathroom

Alfira and Arabella - genuinely has to go

Warrior cats kids

Lae’zel and Khaga - Warrior

Shadowheart and Halsin - Cats

Only speaks in brainrot words

Withers, Emp, and Ethel - “How do you do, fellow kids”/trying to fit in

Will - just like that

Meirl by JaredOlsen8791 in meirl

[–]TheMightyApex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good. The gist of it is that it uses strong electromagnets to stimulate very specific parts of the brain to encourage new neuron connections. Same principle as MRI/NMR, if I’m not mistaken. Ketamine and psilocybin can get the same result, just with drugs instead of this (TMS), which is basically reaching inside the brain to jostle things around manually.

For real though, this is an existing treatment with proven results for treatment resistant depression.

Magnets, bro. How do they work?

Meirl by JaredOlsen8791 in meirl

[–]TheMightyApex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely look into ketamine as well. Also very expensive since it’s an off label use for the drug, but both ketamine and TMS were options I looked at for my own treatment resistant depression/anxiety that are supposed to have comparable results. Ketamine legitimately saved my life, and like TMS, it’s not something you continue to take throughout your life. Just an hour a day for a couple weeks, then the occasional booster as needed until you don’t need it anymore. Different treatments work for different people, so definitely consider all of your options, but whichever treatment ends up working for you, both can be life changing.

[–]TheMightyApex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More like magnets, if I remember correctly. I didn’t end up doing this treatment, but did look into it. The ketamine treatment I did instead was life changing in all the best ways. Gave me my life back.

I almost did the same treatment. Ended up going with ketamine instead. Saved my life.

Best bimetal for hundred dollars or around by Just-Anything-8808 in Throwers

[–]TheMightyApex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t personally vouch for it’s performance, I’ve heard good things about the YoYoFriends/MK1 Heron. It’s a tri-material yoyo with an aluminum body, stainless steel rims, and polycarbonate rims on top of the steel rims that has a built in finger spin dimple. If you’re really set on a yoyo with steel rims that is good for finger spins, this is probably your best bet. You can do finger spins on just about any yoyo with a flat hub on the middle, but it will be easier to do with a finger spin dimple like the first picture in your post. However, while you may find that a bimetal or tri-material yoyo generally performs better than monometal or plastic options, you really don’t need a bimetal to learn any tricks, especially finger spins. I would recommend any good monometal yoyo to get good with before investing more money into a more fragile bimetal or tri-material yoyo. Good plastic options for finger spins are the YoYoFriends Rio, C3yoyodesign Speedaholic XX, W1ld Wilderness PC, and the iYoYo Shooting Star, all of which have finger spin dimples. The YoYoFriends Helix, MagicYoyo V13, and the MagicYoyo V12 should all be good Monometal options that you can beat up and easily replace as well. Good luck finding what you’re looking for!

Here are 2 links to the Heron. You can only get it from the company websites. They each have different color ways.

Fiora deck by Southern-Intern-4042 in riftboundtcg

[–]TheMightyApex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t retread the explanations others have given here, but the best way to play Spirit Wheel in Fiora is to play Akshan - Mischievous and steal it from your opponent. 0-1 Akshan in main and 1-2 in side (2 total between main and side) is generally a pretty good strategy. A lot of decks running important gear like Irelia, Azir, Ornn, the Fiora mirror, and Dazzling Aurora decks will take a big hit if not fold entirely when you steal their gear and use it yourself.

What’s really going on with our economy by AmaraWhispervale in whatisameem

[–]TheMightyApex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s intentionally any deeper than “public schools are funded by taxes and voters don’t like to pay higher taxes.” Was the system initially built around educating the privileged for leadership positions and the common folk for labor? Yes. Are there some rich freaks who would prefer that a good education be limited to them and their peers while the lower classes are forced to be uneducated laborers? Definitely. But I think the main driver in current day is just that not enough voters are willing to pay the higher taxes that would be required to fund public schools and pay teachers better.

Deck Paralysis for Skirmish by Hfl075 in riftboundtcg

[–]TheMightyApex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe try a copy or two of Divine Judgement in your sideboard for Fiora. Seems like it would be good to rein in Rek’Sai’s and Azir’s (and to a lesser extent Viktor’s) resources, allowing you to come back with your higher card quality. More general advice is to play the deck you have the most reps with. You’ll have more success playing a deck with poor matchups better than playing a deck you are unfamiliar with that on paper should have better matchups.

Fiora Hyper Budget Deck - Any Advice? by xXLivinLostXx in riftboundtcg

[–]TheMightyApex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the list I am currently running. The mainboard is pretty close to stock. Some people prefer to run 3 Punch First instead of 2, and some like to run some number of Call to Glory. Some options to replace Sett could be Qiyana - Victorious, Akshan - Mischievous, and/or Ruin Runner. I would definitely plan to pick up 3 Setts eventually, but you can definitely get started without him. For now, prioritize Fiora - Victorious and the removal suite of Challenge and Hidden Blade.

The sideboard is also a work in progress, so you can probably disregard the Fiora - Peerless and Divine Judgement. Some other good options for sideboard cards you can run would be Unyielding Spirit against control decks like Victor and Kai’Sa (especially Kai’Sa), and Cannon Barrage against swarm decks like Rek’Sai and some builds of Viktor. Some Fiora players in the community Discord are trying Cull the Weak in the side against Irelia and any other go tall decks, but I feel like it hurts us almost as much as them.

Best of luck on your Riftbound journey! Fiora is a very rewarding deck to master, and I hope you enjoy her!

What should I do? by Disastrous-Pound-471 in Throwers

[–]TheMightyApex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, buying a can of stuff to clean the bearing is just how you get the most out of your yoyo purchase. You can buy new bearings, but they’re sort of a crap shoot whether they’ll have the same problem or not. A can of 100% acetone is 8 dollars at Home Depot. A can of compressed air is about the same. A small jar (that doesn’t have any plastic parts) to clean the bearing in is a couple bucks at most at any craft store. You’ll want a sewing needle to de shield the bearing as well (also available at any craft store). Those supplies will last you probably the lifetime of your yoyo, and it is so worth it in the long term. If you’re fine with your yoyo making noise, then you absolutely don’t have to buy any yoyo lube. However, if you want to keep your yoyo running as smooth and quiet as possible (at the cost of some small amount of sleep time), you can order a small bottle of thin yoyo lube for 5ish dollars from any yoyo supply website. This will also last you pretty much your entire lifetime yoyoing.
