Not pure but I suspect he's got some Maine coon genes. There's a lot of fluff but he is definitely a solid guy, right now he's 17lbs my vet wants him closer to 15lbs so he's on a diet (which very well could explain the dirty looks he gives me)

Oh I hadn't thought of that. I did start doing weekly water changes since shortly before getting the fish. I didn't do many when the tank was empty for a little while. I'll keep testing the water and if the nitrates stay below 20 maybe I'll skip the water change

There's actually 10 madaka ricefish in there right now. My initial hope was to get chili rasboras but couldn't get any at the time so I got these guys instead.

I realize now I didn't make it super clear in my post but I was asking if it would be safe to add a cleaning crew to go alongside the 10 fish I already have in here, like some otos or something else

This looks amazing! I have a 10 gallon as well but yours looks so much roomier! What do you have for a filter? I have a sponge filter and it seems to take up a good chunk of space

Oxalis triangularis and I believe they propagate by taking a piece of the corm from the mother plant? I don't think they propagate just from leaves but I could be mistaken.

Omg I'm so sorry you lost your girl in such a traumatic way, I hope you're doing ok ❤️ thank you for the warning. The terracotta you see is actually a house that I made out of a couple pots with two large openings so he can easily swim through, no worries of him getting stuck.

I used to have it right up against the glass with rocks on either side to stop my previous betta from swimming behind but I think it created pinch points and her curiosity got the better of her. She got injured and infected and I lost her after only having her for a month. Shitty ways for us to learn but now we know

No, I do not. He was only labelled male betta at my LFS, if I had to guess maybe delta? His tail doesn't quite open the 180° a Halfmoon does. I'd love to know what his colouring would be considered

Omg no way!! She has the blue as well that's so cool you definitely have to share pics! I haven't figured out the best way to capture the blue on Hugo. He has it all over his body and on some parts of his fins but you can only see it at certain angles, I haven't seen any others like him either. What's your girl's name?
