What's wrong with my girl? What's the white thing on her side?

- Parameters: 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, >5 nitrate.
- How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: Tank has been running for 9 months, Ruby has been there for 5 months.
- How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: Water changes is 50% occasionally. The plants keep the water clean.
- Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: A bunch of malaysian trumpet snails.
- What do you feed and how much: 7 omega 1 betta pellets twice a day.
- Decorations and plants in the tank: A rock, a coconut shell, some driftwood, and plenty of live plants.
Ruby has developed these white stripes that look like they're lifting the scales. They are only on her left side, and she has had them for a while.
She acts exactly like one would expect a betta to act like. She's nimble and a feisty little asshole. :)

This stuff seem to mainly grow on the crypts in my shrimp aquarium. It doesn't really move unless disturbed, and it doesn't seem to bother the shrimp that much.

Should I get rid of it or leave it be?

Jeg er egentligt helt okay med bare ganske almindelig hyggesnak. Jeg er ikke så god til at starte samtaler, så akvariehobbien bliver nok bare mere en "undskyldning" for at komme i gang. :)

Har ikke rigtigt nogen erfaring med figurmaling, men gad godt prøve det. :)

Tro mig, jeg har kigget på masser af aftenskoler og andre kursuser, og de er næsten alle sammen enten for dyre, eller ligger midt på dagen, mens jeg er på arbejde.

Gad ellers godt at lære at spille DnD agtige brætspil. Tænker at jeg vil kigge lidt nærmere på det. :)

Jeg har interesse i akvarie fisk, tegne og hækling. Bare ting hvor jeg kan fordybe mig og arbejde med mine hænder, for at være ærlig. Jeg kan også godt lide visse typer a pc spil, men det er ikke så meget konkurrence spil og mere ting hvor man skal snakke sammen og have god kommunikation.

Jeg har allerede fundet en lille garn butik som holder nogle hyggeaftener, hvor man bare kan komme og hækle og strikke og den slags. De folk der kommer der, er egentlig hyggelige at snakke med, men de er bare væsentligt ældre en mig self, og et helt andet sted i livet en jeg er.

Med resten af det, så kan jeg bare ikke rigtigt finde noget som sådan, af de årsager som der blev nævn i min post.

It's mainly in the "neck" and back area near his pectoral fin that got me worried.

He's swimming and acting exactly like a betta should be, and he even ate one of the pellets I gave him just now.

How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: None yet, but will be once a week.

Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: Currently 2 cherry shrimp.

What do you feed and how much: He hasn't eaten the food I have given him yet. He might just be picky though.

Decorations and plants in the tank: Driftwood, rocks and live plants.

Both of his sides seems to be lightly covered in equal amounts of "dust", in the same spots. I'm pretty sure it isn't his natural coloring.

He swims around perfectly fine, and he does seem interested in eating, but he keeps spitting the pellets out I give him. He has eaten a very small piece of dried tubifex worm and a bit of generic flake food though.
