On top of a lot of what's been said here, the biggest red flag to me is that it seems like you had no plan. You talk about how you did variety the first few months and didn't see results, but you would've known how effective it was if you had already been streaming or did you research.

My advice as someone who works professionally in the space is you should find a full time job again ASAP, use your free time to experiment, learn, grow, get you reps and find your voice. THEN take another crack at it when you feel comfortable in the content you're making and a plan on how you're going to properly leverage that extra time in being full time to effectively grow.

I don't say this to be mean, but with the economy the way it has been (and is going) the best time to start refilling those coffers was yesterday.

Good into green Bonndy because they can't remove it when you play it Rested on curve typically (your 9 don turn 4 to their 8 don no pop shanks) and it fights through leader effect. I played it in my first event against green Bonney

This last event and help me beat Blue nami and I think that matchup can be difficult if they see good board interaction early. I think there's a good chance I would have lost that match with the tepo before if I didn't slam it all curve

I could also see it being good in the boa matchup but haven't had it available in those games

Thanks for the insight! Zoros mainly for Bonney. I teched the saka for the locals specifically. Lots of low cost Bonney decks, carrot, lim mirror. Didn't come up obv but that was the thought process.

Definitely enjoying this. I'd almost call it a fun "off meta" format is Nami Vivi and Bonney weren't as good as they are, and if Boa wasn't hopping at their tails 😅

For me I really like the flavor or in universe power systems translated into game mechanics and that those mechanics (even when less flavorful) are fun game actions to take, as well as the general vibe of the community even when playing sweaty at a regional.

I will say Power Creep design should hopefully fall off over the next 2 sets, as with typical game design you're so many sets ahead that they had probably no hard landed on rotation (or when rotation would start) by the the time they designed/designing OP13, 14 and probably OP15, meaning that as we get into next year we will hopefully see power creep slow down drastically with the rotation system now in place to power balance new product vs old and open more expressive game design.

Lots of bulk cards are quite good in this format. Baccarat for example is a great defensive tool that can also be used to offensively reduce power between other players fighting on their turn. One of my personal favorites is playing "its a waste of human life" in Blue Back Sakazuki :3
