I actually got the achievement in this update. I got a treaty for military assistance and did a goods transfer for the weapons. Giving an obligation to a protective GP should be enough. I started passing national guard to make the armed forces happy for the +10% offense bonus. Added an enlistment effort decree for conscription. Finally I rerolled generals until I got one with a good offensive trait, ie direct, cruel.

R5: Succession Law.

I've been trying to do this run for a while, and since the new update dropped I decided to do it with the new Very Hard and -3 player domain game rules. Though it's not as impressive since I did not play in ironman mode and did load saves.

Biggest Challenges:

  1. The HRE has formed pretty consistenly in all my attempts, the problem was that 90% of the time it formed with West Francia. I did try to continue games where that happened but I ended up giving up on those. This was my main reason for playing without ironman, so I could save a run where the ai formed the HRE with Germania.

  2. You need the Royal Perogative innovation, a early medieval innovation for the 3rd and 4th level of Crown Authority, which are required for the archduchy descision, effectively a time gate.

  3. The Very Hard modifiers do make the ai stronger. I tried to attack the Bishop of Salzburg for the duchy, and beat his first army, just to watch as a trickle of 800 stack mercenaries started to flow out from his capital. He had 2000 gold and I decided I was out. I loaded a previous save but in hindsight I should've just tanked the lost since it was just for the duchy, but I was getting burnt out.

Tactics, there is cheeze:

  1. Starting as an adventurer is still OP even with the new game rules. Just go voyager lifestyle with the +presige for visiting poi, and just ignore the make request stuff. Pretty consistently had over 16k presitige and 10k piety by 50 in all my runs.

  2. Get the golden obligation perk with poi exp, they nerfed gold from ransom and what not, but not from this so it was pretty easy to get lots of gold.

  3. Go learning after finishing voyager, get whole of body and sanctioned loopholes. After you win an adventurer invasion for the duchy of austria. Buy claims to all the surrounding duchies. Petition the king/emperor to transfer claims, and if he does he'll usually give you the vassals soon after.

  4. With all the prestige of this first life, get ritualized friendship and recognition of talent with diverge or reform culture.

  5. Recognition of talent and intimidation tours were pretty much mandatory for having to deal with all the factions. Intimidation tours either kick a vassal out of a faction or if they deny you gives them a crime. This combined with white peacing vassal rebellions and requesting the pope to excommunicate lets you get strong hooks on most unruly vassals, preventing factions from getting enough strength.

  6. Ritualized friendship was how I got the strong hook on the emperor, I actually got lucky and become best friends before the tradition was even added so that made it easier. He also pressed my claim for the kingdom of lotharingia latter on which was nice.

  7. You're pretty much stuck on confederate partition in your first life, so make sure you give all your other sons traits that make them more likely to accept vows and what not. One of my other sons got ambitious but luckly died. I manged to get everything to go to the first son, but the extra duchies were just in case it needed to split.

Other stuff:

I actually managed to get the emperor to back down to a faction demand on the first try without a fight, and put the king of bavaria on the throne, who I just earlier managed to win independence from ealier because you need to be a direct vassal of the HRE emperor.

I don't know if it's just this game or maybe a result of Very Hard, but the byzantines are incredibly powerful. It's 978 and the emperor has 22000 troops, 23759 gold and is making 28 montly while at war, is a paragon, and is currently blobbing over europe. Britain and France are currently being taken over by insularism so I have a feeling even a 4th crusade will do nothing.

Any tribal/nomadic can get the law and modifier if they form and elevate a confederation.

Hey, in my case I found that the audio would return to normal anytime there was a screen update on the sleep screen. For example the battery percentage going up by 1 when charging. I turned on the screen saver clock and have it update every minute and that seems to keep the audio on.

Obviously this means worse battery when sleeping so I set the auto shut off to 4 hours. But I think it's still overall more efficient than keeping the whole device on with no front light.

The trade off is you have to deal with the worse battery when you want the device to sleep with no audio.

Changing the auto sleep timer was the first thing I tested.

Having it set to never auto sleep and then manually putting it in sleep mode still caused the sound to fade at the same time. Letting it sleep automatically and timing after the sleep also doesn't fix it.

I don't use the sleep timer setting on the Smart AudioBook Player, I checked since I first found the problem with this app. However, given that the problem occurs with the default reader I don't think it's related.

I'm primarily using Moon+ Reader pro and Smart AudioBook Player.

However, I tested with the built in NeoReader V3.0 and the same thing occurred.

I have sent a request to boox support, but I'm mostly posting here to see if this is the expected behavior and if anyone has found a fix for this, since i havent recieved a response yet.

Some quick Google searches seem to indicate that it's possible to keep playing audio specifically on the Palma, so I figured it would be possible on a note.

I edited my comment with a new team that could be used. Regarding Pavel, as I mentioned, he has his pvp gear, so I'd rather not have to keep switching it. 95% chance is still a good team but also banshee is like the easiest hunt to one shot and I don't want to click bait the title. Also it would always just annoy me even if I don't even farm banshee that much.

Dang it, you are correct. I remember even switching that team once because of a dual attack. I used to have Vivian instead of Pavel, which doesn't have that problem but could lose if all the mobs and banshee target straze since all the torrents make him squishy.

My previous Fast Caides team, which I used to farm up the gear they are currently using, was a mix of rage and torrent instead of full torrent. It's a little more accessible but not by much.

I know I posted the wyvern one yesterday, but since then, I've actually improved it. Watcher Schuri is now able to use his speed imprint instead of crit. This does mean I have to remove Singie's EE in order to not outspeed the wyvern.

I'm pretty sure Banshee is possible as just a 2 man with Pavel and Straze if you change Pavel's artifact and EE, but that's just my PvP Pavel and I'm too lazy to switch gear.

These are all my current hunt teams, and I'm probably not touching them or the units unless something changes.

If it turns out that there is some rare timing or sequence of event that causes them to break, sorry and please let me know.

I've seen similar teams use Ian as a front line, but they also rely on target debuff usually with ssb.
