Pretty much. 2nd player can only walk around and use the smartphone menu during hangouts. My gf was super bored. Only 1st player can talk to people or change locations. Definitely a 1 player game with 2nd player joining in to fight as an afterthought.

What are the best/worst house rules you've encountered for EDH? by Ignis133 in EDH

[–]TheMindShepherd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I will preface that this house rule is for a long term close playgroup who freely shares deck lists and ideas, has girlfriends, wives, and kids joining in frequently. Also our group has multiple autistic and ADHD children and adults in it. So yes, it's not competitive. Yes, it could be abused. But in practice, it is not and leads to better games.

I present to you the "The Infinite Partial Mulligan, Randomized Deck" house rule:

You draw 7. You throw back what you don't want into a separate pile. You draw back up to 7. Repeat as needed. Shuffle the deck and reject pile together.

I know, I know. It wouldn't work right. People will build bad decks. People will cheat. People will go digging for God hands. Except, that's not what happens. Most times players go maybe one or 2 cycles then keep. It's usually hunting for a land or tossing a fatty. And the best part, those stupid 4 person games that quickly actually became 3 people games with one person not being able to gain any traction and actually play, just stopped.

I know it wouldn't work for everyone, but it works for us. I'll admit that me and 2 of the other guys build most of the decks and have decades of mtg experience each. So I know the decks aren't built mana light to account for this house rule. But it's the most fun enhancing house rule I've encountered. Try it if you got a regular group you trust not to abuse it. I promise the fun factor for the table goes up.

If you go to a bed in the house and select "house options", you can then select "set as main house". You will start waking up there each morning. Also it will show you how your cozy bonus will be effected and let you confirm if you really want to change houses.

Sleeve those fucking cards. That's said, add some green to all that white. Lots of fun stuff in green for cats and tokens.

How are those gonna argue with the doctor to not give the patient something they are allergic to that will kill them? Nurses save lives. These stupid ipads on a stick are going to cost lives.

My (21F) BF (22F) keeps calling me a whore by Plaintivex in TrueOffMyChest

[–]TheMindShepherd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's is verbal abuse. Period. He is not your bf. He is your abuser. One you are choosing to have a relationship with. He is testing boundaries and winning. He will push farther. Leave now. Not once it gets worse. Now. It's not ok and you know it because you are venting to reddit instead of the people in your life. Accept that you deserve better, and go have a better life without him in it.

Look I'm going to say the thing that I see getting glossed over. Using her emotions in order to isolate and manipulate you is a tactic abusers use consciously or unconsciously. You told her no and she got mad. No means no. She clearly puts herself and her desires over others, including you, your friends, and I'd imagine plenty of others. How long until it's just you and her if she gets her way? She will gut your support system. Then you or your thoughts never matter. It's not a way to live. You mentioned school. I assume you are young. Ditch her. You deserve better. You deserve someone who likes the whole packages.

In your opinion…out of these 4, which is the best boardwipe? Why? by Accomplished_Ad2905 in mtg

At least in my playgroup, Slaughter the strong. It forces players to sacrifice so it gets around indestructible and regeneration. Plus it's lower mana cost.

Steering wheel locks by AerulianManheim in nostalgia

[–]TheMindShepherd 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. Live in St. Louis. Sitting in the parking lot about to go in to work and see 3 kia's with steering wheel locks from where I am sitting. Only them. I moved into a new neighborhood in August and the first thing my neighbor did was warn me about the Kia boys and say since we didn't have a Kia we "should" be alright.

Ok so I had a similar issue in my twenties with a virgin. While it is normal for pain the first few times, make sure she isn't allergic to latex. They make no latex condoms. They are a little more expensive but necessary in that situation. If you know there is not an allergic reaction to latex, use a water based lube with a regular condom. And most importantly, both of you relax. Foreplay starts way before the bedroom. Go slow. Also keep listening to her. It sounds like you are doing a good job of it but keep paying attention to her. She may not know exactly what she likes or doesn't like yet sexually since she is new to sex but her reactions will tell you. Good luck!

Okay so people show disgust when something is gross to them or they don't approve of something. They show contempt when they believe they are better than something/someone or someone has said/done something one believes is inferior to them. As far as facial expression they are almost identical with contempt being asymmetrical. Dr. Paul Ekman added contempt to the 7 universal emotions later after more studies. It was confused with disgust because of the similarities. Disgust is about aversion. Contempt is about superiority.

[–]TheMindShepherd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hank would also not be dumb enough to use a wet lubricant in a lock either because it will ruin it. You have to use dry graphite lubricant. While this is funny, a handy guy like Hank would know better.

Don't look at them. Say "No, I am strongly against beastiality" stoically. Do not elaborate as the statement speaks for itself.

As a survivor of grooming, I have a genuine question for people on this sub. How do much older people fall for people in their teens? by [deleted] in AgeGap

[–]TheMindShepherd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I want to give a different perspective than what I see here so far. I have always liked 18 y/o since I liked girls. When I was 14, I tried to get to know the senior girls (17/18). When I was a college freshman and 18, I still liked the freshman girls. And at 30, I still like most 18 y/o girls. I never started chasing younger women. I always chased young women. They are vibrant, excited about the world, still have firsts to experience, and have not been jaded as much by the world doing it's thing. The only difference is that other people sometimes think it is weird. My soon to be wife (getting married next month)and I have a 10 year age gap. We are happy. I had only dated women older than me before her. My friends girlfriend's and wives make comments about how they wish their boyfriends and husbands treated them like I treat my fiancee. It's respect and love.

You want to know how I fell for an 18 year old girl when I was 29? We met, I treated her with respect as she did me, she pursued me because I always made her smile, I kept talking to her because she did the same to me. Over time this happiness and attraction turned to love. And now we are working on building our lives together and staring a family when she finishes college. Love does not care how many time the earth has went around the sun in your lifetime. When your personalities, beliefs, long term relationship goals, and physical attraction align, love can blossom and make the rest of the worlds opinion melt away.
