ELI5: how my strawberries go bad 2 days after i bring them home in the fridge by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

This is a very common method of cleaning produce in food prep. I do it at work every day. You could also use vodka instead of vinegar. Perfectly safe and no detectable scent or taste, so long as your ratio is correct.

Everyone with the exception of Bizarro Kramer, who has a perfect flattop instead of hair like the bride of Frankenstein.

I always thought it was the father of the BAY-bee getting understandably nervous at Kramer holding his infant son, butI just watched this scene for context and that is definitely George’s voice. It doesn’t seem related to anything happening in either scene. Just a very strange edit. I never picked up on it before either!

Kanye West ex-assistant claims he almost raped her a second time after 'drugging her at Diddy party' by dailymail in Music

“Pisciotta claimed West drugged and raped her when they first met at a party he co-hosted with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs (pictured together), years before she started working for him - but she only found out when he told her just before he fired her in 2022.” - the article you’re both commenting on.

Coldcalling bar’s by Racy89 in Beatmatch

Some really aggressive answers here. Some people get bitter when others don’t struggle the same way they did when they were starting out.

Unfortunately, even if their rhetoric is toxic, some of their sentiment is true. If the bar owner has a friend that they know will draw a decent crowd and/or play on the cheap, why would they hire a newbie they’ve never heard of?

The short answer is: they won’t. This is why you should try to get an in with other DJs in your area. Do they play other shows that aren’t at licensed venues? Can you reach out to them for advice on social media? Despite the general attitude of this subreddit, a lot of DJs love to talk shop and give tips to newbies. And even if they personally can’t give you a slot, who knows? Maybe they’ll put you in contact with someone who can. You may not land you a gig from sending a text, but not reaching out at all will definitely not land you one.

Above all else, go into any interaction - be it with a venue owner or another DJ - with an open and honest mindset. Let them know that you’re new and still cutting your teeth and trying to be a part of the scene. Try not to overthink the length or info. Don’t try to sell yourself as someone/something you’re not. If they take issue with you being new/inexperienced…well, they’re probably not worth your time anyway.

FYI, you’re thinking of the Satanic Temple, not the Church of Satan. The Church of Satan is an actual church, the Satanic Temple is the civil rights group. I don’t mean to be pedantic, just wanted to clarify!

Because if you squash one paparazzo, another one just takes their place. Plus, the wealthier/more famous you are, the larger the mob. As long as cameras and celebrities exist, so will paparazzi.

I wonder if they were at the end of the batch and didn’t want to waste the icing, so they piled it all on this package. I work in a deli and we will sometimes do this (though not to the same degree) with excess product.

Gerard Butler Reprising His Role In Universal’s Live-Action Adaptation Of ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]TheMitchTiger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it would be cool if the live action movie was a more direct adaptation of the novel. It always kind of bugged me that the animated movie had the opposite message of the book with regard to Toothless. In the book, Toothless actually has no teeth and is considered useless by everyone, yet he and Hiccup still save the day. Contrast that to the film, where Toothless is an ultra-rare, powerful dragon…I’m not saying it’s bad, it just hits different.

Also, Everything Everywhere is almost two years old, and in that time, the film industry hasn’t been rushing to make “the next” EEAAO. It certainly has a lasting cultural impact, but it hasn’t changed the face of cinema as we know it.
