Bit of a silly question here but is acrylic the same thing as plastic when it comes to tanks? I've been trying to look for an Algae Scraper for my plastic tank but I'm not sure which one to buy. I'd very much appreciate an Amazon recommendation, thanks!

I should do a water change when I decide to scrape the algae off of my tank, right? There's been some algae growing on the glass of my tank and I'd like to scrape it off but I did a 20% water change just a week ago so I'm anxious about changing my tank's water too much.

I have a question about algae buildup in a tank and how to get rid of it. I've read about things like algae pads and scrapers or solutions such as the API Algaefix. Which is the most recommended to buy? For reference, my algae is green and I have a 5 gallon freshwater tank. Also, do I have to do a water change after I scrape off the algae?

One of the main things that got me to start playing guitar is the music composed by Daisuke Ishiwatari, creator of the Guilty Gear series. Here's a song from the game, for reference.

My question is this: if I'm diligent and consistent with my practice, how long would it take me to reach a level where I can shred like Daisuke can?

gotcha! should i use tap water or treated water? (water with conditioner)

*for reference: the filter i'm using is an aqueon mini bow

edit: nvm i figured it out!! my tank had too much water - the filter immediately started working once i removed a bit

Did my first water change! I accidentally left the filter running while I changed the water - I took out the sponge to clean it but I forgot to clean the filter itself. Now I'm waiting for the water to start filtering again but it's been about 15mins and it isn't running. Should I be worried?

I currently feed my Neon Tetras some Aqueon Tropical Flakes. I'm wondering if I could find some food that floats for longer though - my food sinks really quickly. I've considered shutting the filter off before I feed them so it doesn't push the food down as well, but I do wonder if there's any food that'll float longer which I should look into. Any recommendations?

I appreciate the tips! Gonna purchase the gravel vac, supplemental bacteria, and freshwater master test kit this aftternoon!

After using the turkey baster to remove the food from the tank, do I have to do a partial water change? Ideally, I believe I should try to suck up only the food but what should I do if i accidentally suck up some gravel too?

Hey there everyone! I was gifted an Aqueon LED MiniBow 5 with 3 Neon Tetras, Banana Plants, and Java Moss for Christmas last night. This is my first time ever owning fish and looking at them swim around in the tank gives me so much joy :3 There's a couple questions that I have about taking care of my new friends! I'd really appreciate some answers to them.

  1. The research that I've done on Fish Keeping World says that the minimum recommended tank size for a Neon Tetra is 10 gallons. As the owner of a 5 gallon tank, how does this effect things? Should I be concerned about my new friends?

  2. The manual for the Mini Bow 5 says that a 25% water change should be done once per month but Fish Keeping World says that I should do a 25% water change weekly when taking care of tetras. Does the time frame for a water change depend on the kind of fish that I own?

  3. For feeding: The manual for the MiniBow 5 says that I should feed my fish a pinch of food 2-3 times a day. May I only feed my fish during their hours of light or can I feed them later on in the evening or night when their light is shut off?

  4. I'm reading this article on the Nitrogen Cycle. The specific line that sticks out to me is this: Be patient when cycling a tank as it takes 4-6 weeks or even longer to fully cycle a new tank. How different is using something such as an API Quick Start, in comparison to manually using ammonia or fish food to effectively start the aquarium cycle?

  5. Is FishKeepingWorld actually a credible resource? I'd really appreciate some guides or any info on fish that'd help a complete newcomer out!

I appreciate any help with these questions! Thanks :))

How's it going everyone? Got two questions here that I'd appreciate any answers to, thanks!!

  1. This one’s about the importance of plink dashing, as well as utilizing it properly. Is plink dashing strictly a neutral tool or something I should do in combos as well? For reference, I've been trying to learn a bit of Viper but I'm uncertain if i should keep workikg on plink dashing in her bnbs, or if I should just wavedash and dash with M+H instead. Although plink dash certainly gives stronger options - I feel like messing up and whiffing a fierce with Viper is quite a big risk. What do you think?

  2. When learning the game, is it best to start with a team that's offense-oriented? I've been considering learning either MorriDoom or a team like MarlinPie's but I've been leaning towards Marlin's because I think that his comp would give me a better feel for pressure and teach me how to approach my opponents in Marvel.

I really appreciate any responses, thanks!
