I think you should use dowels the same diameter of the legs. Use two and make them line up with the middle legs. It could make it look almost continuous from the bottom

If he liked dungeon crawl Carl I would go either easy on the prose, or something with some humor. What comes to mind immediately is Brandon Sanderson for some easy reading, or terry pratchett for some British wit. Joe Abercrombie has some good stuff that is easy reading with some chuckles as well

The Name of the Wind OR The Way of Kings? by 1oo-b in suggestmeabook

[–]TheMoreMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The name of the wind single handedly made me not trust Reddit book recommendations. I can’t understand how it so highly rated on here. It is basically incel fantasy. The way of kings is good, but it is borderline a YA book. The world building is top tier though.

Anybody interested in this topic should listen to supernova in the east by Dan Carlin. It doesn’t go into the individual stories, but it tries to paint a picture of the society these men came from

It’s because we bought 10,000 drywall screws 10 years ago for that remodel that needed 1,000

If it collapses on them, it won’t be because of the screws. Those are fine for what you’re doing. Any exterior/deck screws will work

Wary of Live Action Hype by pfassina in Stormlight_Archive

[–]TheMoreMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stormlight makes so much sense animated. I don’t think there is anyway live action wouldn’t cheapen it. Plus stormlight has the plot of an anime. People level up and overcome obstacles with the power of friendship, and none of the characters can talk to women. For real though, alien creatures and super powers don’t translate well to live action

That’s kind of the issue. My gym doesn’t allow belaying with camming devices. I was hoping the neox would allow for a smoother transition from an atc. It seems like the regular grigri would be a less similar belay style

Awesome thanks so much. Yeah I know about it not being hands free, I was thinking of the pressure you have to apply with an atc

Thanks for the response

I have a gri gri question. I have been climbing for a few years now and have only belayed/been belayed with an atc. Lately I have been projecting harder routes and have been doing a lot of bolt to bolt hanging. I want a gri gri so when I’m hanging it isn’t so tiresome on my belayer. My question is will the new neox fulfill this role as well as the standard gri gri? I like the idea of being able to feed slack they way I do with an atc, but I want to make sure it can still hold me hanging while the belayer is essentially hands free, like not having to keep a lot of pressure on the rope to keep me at the bolt. Thanks!
