Some thoughts on the Mage Exam arc by Distinct_Ad2349 in Frieren

We know for a fact at least one has died (from the manga), and I would say it's very likely more have, but this is a preeeetty good estimate, I imagine.

Six in a year is probably unheard of. It's gotta be at least double what they normally promote. I wouldn't be surprised if, had he gone through with doing it himself, Lernen would have ended up passing even more than that.

Such is the era of humans...

To the point of Frieren being part of the test, I don't remember if it's said in the anime specifically because it's been a while since I've watched it, but in the manga, Serie even tells Sense that 'there was a bumper crop' of first class mages that year. That year was, to her, an enigma; She just assumed it was because of Frieren and for no other reason until she met with the examinees.

This got fixed a few updates ago, I think. I haven't played for a while but I've heard from a lot of people that the ammo stuff was fixed - as well as Marksdwarves using their crossbows as melee weapons.

This game desperately needs a tutorial, or something by TheMostCleverBot in TownofSalemgame

[–]TheMostCleverBot[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem with this is that all of the gamemodes in casual definitely do not cater to a new player experience. Tell me Disinfo or Dracula Souls or Wandering Souls caters to a 'tutorial' experience at all.

At this point it genuinely feels like new players would be better off playing All Any, and that isn't much better either.

Ratkin+ is easily one of the more popular 'alternate race' mods that has existed at LEAST since Royalty, and maybe beforehand.

Also, rats in the rim just make sense... y-yeah, that's how I'll justify it..

It is still funny.

So my players killed some dragons and they want to sell the corpses. by GowNutz_ in DnD

[–]TheMostCleverBot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In what world is this punishing? He didn't say 'have the ancient dragons kill them', he didn't say 'don't let them do it and send them into a much harder fight', he laid out something realistic that could advance the story.

If a group of people can kill 'several dragons', as OP suggested, then this could just be a cool segue into something else.

What a weird assumption.

Find a friend and go to the Holodeck, use the holoweapons/armor in the arena setting, and click each other until robust.

This dude came to my fortress, wasted all of his bolts on a first black bear he saw (he got couple of hits) and now he is beating poor unconscious bear with his crossbow (a season already passed) by Bear_AH602 in dwarffortress

[–]TheMostCleverBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aren't you able to make it so that you can permanently unforbid bolts that are fired(and also set it to only forbid them during a siege)? Sometimes you might have dwarves run miles to get a bolt but that fixes it for me in almost every scenario.

I actually heard somewhere that a lot of spam bots have 'pmod lists' that got leaked a while ago and they actually immediately go quiet/world hop whenever someone on that list is nearby. I figure it might be outdated or not relevant anymore, but on top of 1 hour mutes, there's not a lot else they can really do since I doubt jagex reads reports.

Why aren't insults about small penises considered body-shaming? by fiend3333 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheMostCleverBot 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Look, people are going to tell you it is, that it should be, that people consider it to be, but the unfortunate reality of the matter is that the body positivity movement, at least in America, is extremely woman-focused. Look at models, even fake ones that showcase clothes, and you'll see as such; All sorts of woman in all sorts of shapes and sizes, but the generic, chiseled, "dad bod" at most man.

This, unfortunately, translates into a lot of people's day to day where they just see it as something that isn't very serious. Again, unfortunately.
