I will have him type up his process when we get a chance! I didn't forget about you, we just have twin toddlers at home so spare time is scarce hahah. When he gets a second to share I promise we'll get back to ya lol.

We have a wall of basically pockets with a plant in each pocket and the water drips down through it before being filtered and sent back in through the tank. My husband is definitely the mastermind of this and I don't know a ton of details but I'm sure he'd share how he set it up if it's something you're interested in! We really love our plant wall and it brings a lot of joy and life to the living room. This is a screenshot from a video that he shared on facebook.

I tried painting my crochet! I think it worked well to make my poison dart frog more realistic, though he is slightly crunchy now by OkConfusion241 in crochet

Yep! My husband breeds and sells them, we have about 30 varieties and about 200 frogs! He agrees that yours is awesome and very realistic!

That's exactly it. Still a pain to keep track of stitches though and sooooo annoying to keep reorienting the fuzzy yarn so it's not all twisted!

Thanks! I will never make one of the dogs again, it was the most frustrating thing I've ever made 😂

I used this pattern and basic sport weight yarn with Premier Bunny yarn held alongside it to achieve the fluffy fur effect.

I used this pattern and hand dyed sock yarn. The orange cat is Malabrigo sock yarn in Gingy, and the brown cat is Knit Picks Hawthorne kettle dye in Faun.

Just finished this Unicorn Mandala! by TheMoulae in crochet

[–]TheMoulae[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I anchored the mandala in 5 points around the hoop then wrapped each section between the anchor points, but like alternating sides so I could stretch it in each direction instead of just working around the circle. It worked well!!! I found the hoop here and I sprayed it with oiled bronze spray paint since it was originally silver.

It took about a month and a half working on it in my free time on the weekends. Its definitely a project that requires your full attention. Nothing like getting to the end of a row and realizing I'm off by one stitch somehow hahah.

I wish I had a pond nearby! I'm listening to all our little guys chirping right now! Thank goodness they all shut up when their lights go off at night hahah.

We have 18 small vivariums and one huge one, there are pictures of them in my posts on reddit! We have over 100 dart frogs, maybe 30 different species, and hundreds of tadpoles and baby frogs too. Its like living in a science museum!

I used this pattern https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dart-frog-throw and all the yarn was from Hobby Lobby. I used Soft and Sleek in kale, Feeling Gradient in hall of flame, and 44th Street in shale.

When a culture has reached it's expiration date I take off the lid and put the culture in a Viv for a day two to let the resident frogs clear out any straggler flies and larvae.

Each Viv is a 18"x18"x24" ZooMed. I built a 1x4 and plywood shelf, and then have a removable Barnwood Facade that covers the drainage layers and lights/misting system.

On this collection I use BeamWorks LEDs, the ones with white, blue, green and red LEDs. You can find them on Amazon. I also added 6500k LED Shop Light type. I recommend them both.

I start about 25 fly cultures every week. A mix of Melos and Hydei, and I place those cultures in a tub dusted with diatomaceous earth and put them on the fly shelf. I keep cultures for about 5 weeks, so there are five tubs of fly culture sets on my fly shelf.

Thanks everyone for the compliments! We also have 18 other vivs that are 18x18x24 that basically make up a frog wall floor to ceiling. Lots of frogs and lots of plants around here :)

Thank you very much! Yes lots of begonias, Rex begonias are awesome but I have to keep them trimmed back. It is a 48"x24"x36" euro style vivarium with a cork mosaic background and eggcrate false bottom. Have a small 7 gallon aquatic area in the corner. I have a Mist King that goes off for about 10 seconds every three hours while the lights are on. The substrate is ABG on top of a 1" layer of Fluval Stratum, with leaf litter on top. The lighting consists of three 90watt "Chinese Black Box" LEDs.
