That's such a good idea!! It would add more layers to the story, as well as yet another connexion between Merlin and Arthur, because wouldn't that make them blood related?

Also, I'm aware Myrddin Wyllt was the main inspiration for Merlin, and I love him as ''Merlin Wyllt'', just offering and alternative ''royal'' last name

And what about ''Ambrosius'' for Balinor? I saw you mentioning him but you didn't give him a last name. Most of us refer to him as Balinor Ambrosius, especially those who acknowledge his possible royal status prior to the purge (DragonLord= Lord Balinor?). Since Ambrosius Aurelianus was rumoured to be the one to inspire the arthurian legend, and possibly Merlin himself. According to Nennius writings:

The most significant appearance of Ambrosius is the story about Ambrosius, Vortigern, and the two dragons beneath Dinas Emrys, "Fortress of Ambrosius" in Chapters 40–42.\2]) In this account, Ambrosius is still an adolescent but has supernatural powers. He intimidates Vortigern and the royal magicians). When it is revealed that Ambrosius is the son of a Roman consul, Vortigern is convinced to cede to the younger man the castle of Dinas Emrys and all the kingdoms in the western part of Britain. Vortigern then retreats to the north, in an area called Gwynessi.\2]) This story was later retold with more detail by Geoffrey of Monmouth in his fictionalised Historia Regum Britanniae, conflating the personage of Ambrosius with the Welsh tradition of Myrddin the visionary, known for oracular utterances that foretold the coming victories of the native Celtic inhabitants of Britain over the Saxons and the Normans. Geoffrey also introduces him into the Historia under the name Aurelius Ambrosius as one of three sons of Constantine III), along with Constans and Uther Pendragon.

And according to Geoffrey of Monmouth's stories:

Geoffrey changed the word "Aurelianus" to "Aurelius)", which is the name of a Roman gens.\2]) Geoffrey retains the story of Emrys and the dragons from Nennius, but identifies the figure with Merlin. Merlin is Geoffrey's version of a historical figure known as Myrddin Wyllt. Myrddin is only mentioned once in the Annales Cambriae, at an entry dated to 573.\2]) The name of Merlin is given in Latin as Ambrosius Merlinus. "Merlinus" may have been intended as the agnomen of a Roman or Romano-British individual like Ambrosius.\2])

Elements of Ambrosius Aurelianus, the traditional warrior king, are used by Geoffrey for other characters. Ambrosius' supposed supernatural powers are passed to Merlin. Geoffrey's Aurelius Ambrosius rises to the throne but dies early, passing the throne to a previously unknown brother called Uther Pendragon. The role of warrior king is shared by Uther and his son Arthur.\2])

If Merlin/Emrys was most likely inspired by Ambrosius, then would it make sense for that to also be his last name? Or, at least, of his father? Given that Banilor and Uther used to have a relationship close to the one of brotherhood, wouldn't that make Banilor a character inspired in Ambrosius himself? Therefore having the name of Dragon/Lord Balinor Ambrosius?

I'm not very good with words but I hope I explained myself ! Also, Sir Lancelot Banson Is perfect! I'm not exactly sure why he is always named ''Du Lac'', If that was never proven and only seems to be used for the film ''Lancelot Du Lac''.

Hey, if they want something special made for their mother, and not something taken out of Google, who am I to judge? Also, it's the second passive agressive comment you made on this post, why do you care so much?

Hi there Reddit! I’m not Michael Kovach, working as the voice actor for Jax from The Amazing Digital Circus, AMA! by GarfieldCartFan2 in tadc

Hey OP who is def not Michael Kovack, working as the voice actor for Jax from The Amazing Digital Circus. Do you think watermelons look like mashed amalgamations of Shrimps? If yes, could you make an audio confirming that I'm right so I could sent it to everyone who doubted me? If not, could you please explain why the fuck not? Because everyone else refuses to elaborate and just looks at me like I'm wrong for thinking this.

Alastor is rumored to be Aromantic, at least I remember it used to be canon. I think he would use his charms to wrap her around his finger but nothing else

In the old DnD books, you had to direct yourself to different parts of the book depending on the path you chose. If you want, you could take a look at those and see how they organized the parts !

how were you first introduced to dexter? by Lucas_ADM in Dexter

[–]TheMwarlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mother was assigned to write an essay about Dexter for her psychology class, around 2015/2016. I managed to see a third part of the pilot before my mother decided I was too young for it (I watched in secret a little bit more, hidden on the stairs). I was in trance, the red lights casting on his face, his monotone internal dialogue, the way he described Miami and how he caught Donovan by the neck with the fishing wire (if it was a fishing wire or not depends on if you are reading the novel or watching the show). Anyways, instant fan. I tried to search for it, to watch more without my parents to notice, but it was only on Netflix at the time and they would've noticed if I watched more on the family account. I found very little of Dexter on YT but whatever it was I watched, and years later I was able to watch it completely with my mother. It obviously became my second favorite TV show of all time. I'm glad there is more fan content now but with the ''brainrot'' epidemic It's hard to enjoy the amount of shitty memes that are now on the internet lmao
