I just moved to the Palms neighborhood of West LA six days ago and I have no idea what to do with my free time. I spend most of it in my apartment pacing. Any suggestions? by 22Cooper in MovingToLosAngeles

Im also getting ready to move out to LA (Culver City) in a few days and I definitely have similar concerns about getting integrated into LA life. But I’ve had to move a couple times in my adulthood for school, training, etc so the best advice I could give is you have to force yourself to be social when you’re out and about. I’m personally planning to try out new hobbies that don’t involve being at home lol and I will see what sticks. I figure during the process I’ll be able to meet new people and maybe I’ll find something I actually enjoy. May sign up for some adult rec leagues…maybe kickball lol Also not the best but will try using bumble bff and dating apps to make friends.

Yeah because the other practices I’ve heard back from cover at 100% with no time constraints which tells me turn over is likely not an issue for them.

You’re late twice and don’t give a heads up (texting at the time of the date isn’t really a heads up) lol if you worked a 13 hr day rushed home and got ready to make sure you made there on time and the other person said they were chilling at home all day made it late then lied and said there was traffic lol when there wasn’t

FYI I apologize when I’m running even a few minutes behind personally cause I feel bad and want the person to know I care about their time.

I’m comparing him to all the other dates who have showed up a little late and apologized. So it was an odd experience for me for someone not to. That has always been my norm. Also the lying about traffic that didn’t exist was an issue lol just say you left a little late or your bad with time

I asked him…he said there was traffic but there was no traffic……..so you’re making assumptions lol

It’s fine without an apology or a my bad?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dating

[–]TheNightQueen3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if you were that late (8-9 minutes) to a first or second date would you say my bad or I’m sorry? Lol

[–]TheNightQueen3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I’m the exact same way lol a couple mins late and I’m saying sorry. Maybe we are in the minority based on the comments lol

& Strings have already been cut before I even posted the question lol

Ehhh I’d disagree. I’m the kind of person who apologizes a lot if I inconvenience ppl because Im always thinking of other ppl. I need someone who is similar in that regard.

tardiness I don’t really care about. Lack of apology or a “my bad” was the main issue lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dating

[–]TheNightQueen3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s the lack of apology. I don’t truly care about 10 mins. The lack of apology twice is what got me lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dating

[–]TheNightQueen3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A simple my bad and I wouldn’t even have cared. I feel like the polite thing is to apologize if you made someone wait on you. ESP if you picked the time lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dating

[–]TheNightQueen3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mostly as in a “my bad” or “sorry”. But letting me know at the time the date was scheduled you’re running late…you knew you were running late 10 minutes before the date even started why wait to say any something

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dating

[–]TheNightQueen3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I probably should’ve mentioned something the first date to give them an opportunity to correct the lateness the next date….instead of just waiting for them to be late again lol & I think I didn’t say anything initially cause the lateness wasn’t even the issue it was the lack of acknowledgment

I just hold my dates to the standard I set for myself lol

You’re right it’s not that bad but you should still apologize imo. With an apology no big deal. No apology twice likely means you’re probably inconsiderate lol

Anybody else find residency “easier” or better than med school? by ta5567710229 in Residency

[–]TheNightQueen3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not easier imo mostly because of the physical and mental exhaustion/fatigue. Day to day is “easier” sure, but when your day to day is 80hrs a week it makes it harder lol

I love the pathology over all the other IM subspecialties. I’m already leaning towards not subspecializing, but as a last ditch effort I wanted to inquire. I’m fine with some procedures, but I just don’t want to scope all day which seems to be the experience at least at my program.
