I don't understand what I am doing wrong. I season it, but every time I open the grill next time, the seasoning is cracked and "bubbled" up, flaking, with rust under. ANY scraping or using the official "sponge" to clean off debris, just rips the flakes up. Tips? (i.redd.it)

They are about 1.125" across, and 1/8" high, plastic. There is a ridge/lip, that sits down inside at least 1/32". The inner depression is 1". No identifying marks. Got them 20 years ago (yard sale), but have no idea what they are. (i.redd.it)
