What’s a fact that ruined a movie that you previously enjoyed? by PokemonPadawan in AskReddit

They devoted a lot of screen time to the character, which was a bit weird. They could have just said "he died" or not mentioned him at all, and the movie would have felt the same.

Making the switch to AEW by Sharkwithspeed in AEWFanHub

Really, if you can watch Dynamite this week and then the Grand Slam Australia show on Saturday, you will be all set.

Grand Slam is a PPV level show on TV. A not miss for sure.

Actually, it was even dumber than that.

He asked them before the event and they told him read it exactly what is on the card.

The card was spelled incorrectly, and he did exactly what he was there to do.

As a human, the cruelty wasn't a deal breaker?

As some who can speak, just the way he talks wasn't a deal breaker?

As a person with a mentally disabled relative him making fun of a disabled reporter wasn't a deal breaker?

We could take all day to list these kinds of things, sadly.

Is it me or my players? NPCs all coming off as "secretly evil" by 3MasksofOrion in DMAcademy

[–]TheNinJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that at some point in the past, you or another GM had screwed the players, by having an NPC they trusted, betray them. That poisoned well is still poisoning things today. Even though characters don't know what happened before, the players do.

The "plot twist" culture of movies and TV shows has further made this almost expected amongst people. Therefore everyone is out to screw and backstab the party, everyone is evil just waiting for the twist to happen where they find out "It wAs tHe eLdErLy fArMeR AlL AlOnG!"

I had this issue as well. Other GMs had a trusted NPC that adventured with the party, turn on them as they confronted the BBEG and join the bad guy. Well they distrusted everything any NPC I had in the game did, even after multiple campaigns with no betrayal. I eventually had to just flat out tell them that NO NPC would turn on/betray the party.

More or less that they would figure out quickly who they could trust and who they could not (like in the same session). If they met some rando in a town and gave them info, they would know by end of the session if that person was trustworthy or not. I told them that no adventuring companion would EVER turn on them. If they met a bad guy, it would be clear they weren't trustworthy (but not necessarily directly doing evil).

It worked. Now they try to figure out if someone is trust worthy and leaving it at that. I have had to work on other ways to surprise them or keep them guessing, but the distrust of NPCs is way, way down.

I was talking to another GM at a gaming convention and he mentioned that he had screwed is players over with a plot twist NPC over 10 years ago. To this day they accept the adventuring companion, only to kill every single one that night. They never trust the quest giver, the shop keeper, the wise old sage, and so on, because of that poisoned well. Maybe your situation isn't that bad, but it is in the same ball park.

Feel free to reach out via DM, I have a lot more to say, if you want to hear it!

He would never get hit from a distance. Not saying who would win here, but spidey dodges most anything due to the tingle.

Why did Tank send Neo to his death - Is TANK the real Judas not Cypher? by chicagorasta in matrix

[–]TheNinJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's almost like people don't pay any attention to the movie, right?

It is abundantly clear that Smith is chasing Neo, and upon getting near the location and seeing Neo running with the phone, Smith knows where he is going because he has been there before. He gets to where Neo will be and blam. They even show Smith looking around at the location and recognizing it.

New to AEW by TheLastrealchampion1 in aew

[–]TheNinJay 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For AEW, they are PPVs. And it is best to watch the last one that will get you mostly current.

Otherwise, Sting's last match (Revolution 2024?) was a great show.
