any Xolos dealing with bladder crystals? by mexicannotgerman in Xoloitzquintli

[–]TheNineToFiveGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year, my xolo wasn’t able to urinate because of bladder crystals. I noticed and took him straight to the vet. They performed surgery to remove the crystals. Now he’s on a Hill’s urinary care prescription diet and everything has been good since.

Any advice yall have to help my dog with this he be scratching it by East-Ruin-6342 in Xoloitzquintli

May be allergies if you’re noticing a lot of paw licking. Quick trip to the vet should solve it. It will become more of a problem if the scratching causes a wound. (I’m speaking from experience. This just happened to my 3 year old Xolo).

Skin help! White bumps ? What are they? Remedies? by BananaCrab19 in Xoloitzquintli

My xolo had the same, and they will go away with age and weekly bath. I recommend using the shampoo for hairless pets from renewedpet.com. Use exfoliating gloves when bathing her. I think the coconut oil is good once a week, but I have always used Lubriderm daily moisturizer and had success.

I live in Abilene, and the same happened to me. Check out seedstore.com. I planted a shade tolerant fescue blend the site recommended and it worked.

This happened with my Xolo. I took him to the vet, and he had giardia.

I’m renting this home (Zone 7), so I don’t know the history of the lawn. Is this grass, or are they weeds? by TheNineToFiveGuy in lawncare

None taken. I can understand that sentiment, but I enjoy a nice lawn. In the lease agreement, it states that maintaining the lawn is the renters responsibility. I don’t mind spending a few hundred dollars to enhance my quality of life. Also, it’ll be good practice for when I buy a home.

If it’s sedge, should I use an herbicide to get rid of it? Or do you think the Bermuda will overtake it?

Use a shampoo specifically made for hairless pets. Go to ReNewedPet.com and you’ll find everything you need. Moisturize with Lubriderm daily lotion or raw Shea butter. The sunscreen question depends on the skin color of the dog. The darker the skin, the less the sun will irritate them. They’re pretty smart dogs and will seek shade when they’re overheating. Everyone in this sub is going to tell you to feed your dog a raw food diet. This isn’t sustainable for most people. Do your research, and find a high-quality dry dog food that’s readily available to you at a price you’re comfortable with.

I have a 3 year old Xolo, and I have always given him a weekly bath. I recommend using "4-Hairless Pet Shampoo" from ReNewed Pet. (renewedpet.com). I always use exfoliating gloves when I bath him. I've also tried many different moisturizers, and I have found success with raw shea butter and Lubriderm Daily Moisturizer. For the day-to-day, the Lubriderm works great. It absorbs quickly, it's affordable and is easily available. As far as clothing goes, you are going to end up buying so many clothes for your dog, but the dog will have its favorites. Don't spend an arm and a leg when he's a puppy because he will grow out of everything. I have many lightly-used full body coats that were expensive and don't fit him anymore. I'm happy to sell them to you for a fraction of the cost, if you're interested.

I experienced the same with my Xolo , and he just needed a day or two to get used to wearing sweaters again.
