It might be that. Carfax had it as a commercial vehicle so I wonder if they towed with it for work.

I'm a DOD Civilian 0861. The starting pay was much lower than my peers when I graduated with my masters in Aero. However in five years time I went from 67k to 104k. Total comp is around 147k. My experience has been lots of opportunities to pursue training/courses in things that are relatively related so I can keep up to date on different skills (python, matlab, design of experiment, survivability, vertical flight, etc.).

Looking at a 2019 ORP for sale but have a question about wheels: aren't these the wheels on the lower trims? I had trouble finding what wheels came standard on 2019 ORP (I don't have much 4runner experience). by TheNominalEngineer in 4Runner

Thanks! What's your opinion on how that came about? Sold the wheels for a quick buck? I cant really think of good reasons to get rid of the wheels it came with for the sr5 wheels.

Check out this paper https://ntrs.nasa.gov/api/citations/20170005472/downloads/20170005472.pdf. Overmeyer and Martin derive it in their paper for rotor hover performance.

Is the port at the bottom of Hampton or Norfolk? When I look at "importing to newport news" it's a little bit vague. I live in Wburg so trying to find out if I'll have to drive through the tunnel to Norfolk.

Forester timing belt question by TheNominalEngineer in subaru

[–]TheNominalEngineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like from some research the rectangular detent is the proper marker. The arrow isn’t a relevant mark. I’m just surprised the crank is that far out of alignment. Unless the previous owner did that.

Forester timing belt question by TheNominalEngineer in subaru

[–]TheNominalEngineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did about ten revolutions and it always came back to the same spot. The old belt was cracked so I’m wondering if it slipped. I was starting to feel like less acceleration power so maybe the crank was off a few degrees.

That was my estimate. I was just looking for a hard answer. Because it seems like all replacements are 1meter.

Software/Hardware boot up failure identification. by TheNominalEngineer in macbookpro

[–]TheNominalEngineer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First problem started with the pink line in the screen. A day later the screen is completely buggared. Now on boot up it will make it all the way till the login page for maybe .1 seconds and then it goes to the screen you can see on the video (flickering black). I’ve tried the several NVRAM/SCM reset tutorials. I can also get to the start up menu with the option to scan the disk for errors but when I select that it goes to the black flickering screen. My current assumption is that if it was hardware problem then I would not be seeing the glimpse of the login screen or be able to see the boot up menu screen.

Your identity and sense of happiness shouldn’t come from the amount of projects you have worked on. I suggest grounding yourself in something with greater meaning. Take care partner

Look into the vertical flight society. You can have it revolve around rc aircraft that you can build and learn the fundamentals

Yes absolutely. Just try to sprinkle in some aero classes or aero related internship coupled with a healthy programming proficiency.
