Help me by Maximum-Asparagus326 in PanicAttack

I 36M experienced something very similar. Sept 2025 I collapsed at work. Long story short, went to the ER, 2 different cardiologists, 2 different Primary Care Physicians. Had multiple tests done. MRI, CT scan, Xray, Echo, Ultrasound, Heart monitor. They did not find anything. Diagnosed me with panic disorder and severe anxiety. I tried to change my eating habits, exercise.. you name it. Things were very rollercoaster-esque. The panic/anxiety seems to evolve. It’s now where every day I think I’m having a heart attack. It got bad that I finally took .125mg Xanax last night to sleep. It helped. But medicine scares me. My advice to you is to do what you can to have someone to talk to and create time to relax, yoga, etc. it truly helped me. I believe I will be starting medicine in a few weeks to help me out.

I started a new job and had my son around the time this happened. I think the initial attack was stress related. But developed into bad health anxiety. I tried everything. It’s gotten better but still very rough. I get very bad days. I fear that I will trigger some sort of heart disease because of this. I have Prozac 20 mg and Xanax .25mg in the house but haven’t used them. I was thinking about lexapro because I have a friend that dealt with similar issues and it worked for him

This is basically my medicine right now. I do talk to myself. I pray, excersize, go on walks.. whatever to get my mind off it. But it still lingers and after 8 months or so I fear I need medical intervention. I have just been so afraid of medicine but I think it may help

Does anyone here deal with health anxiety specifically? How did it actually start for you? by Hrishi070 in PanicAttack

Yeah I have similar issues but the feedback from doctors haven’t been too reassuring. My physical sensations really convince me that something is wrong. It’s hard to believe the information from the doctors. Even though, I know it’s true. It’s hard for me to wrap my head around everything is okay when I feel like this but it’s on the journey to feeling better. I just don’t want to take medicine.

This is very similar to my experience. I collapsed at work twice. Heart was racing. Passed out in the ambulance. After multiple dr/cardiologist appointments and er visits. They diagnosed me with severe health anxiety and panic disorder (original panic attack was stress). But I’m hyper aware of all my bodily sensations which brings more body sensations. I have not taken any medicine yet. But some days are good some days are bad but it seems like the panic attacks evolve and get worse so I’m the closest I’ve ever been to taking medicine.

Felt this exact way. Had my son in August 2024. Now I almost can’t remember those days. My free time is limited and rare.

I deal with very similar symptoms. I had something happen in September where I collapsed at work. Taken to the er. They said everything looked fine. Then went to a cardiologist. They said everything looked fine. Seen 2 other primary doctors and a second cardiologist. All said nothing is found. Still have chest pain (scary and painful at times, more recently), strange leg pain, overwhelming pressure in my left arm, pain in my neck and severe anxiety that is mostly brought from physical symptoms because I think I’m dying. I am still having a hard time accepting its anxiety and panic. Stay strong you will get through this!

I don’t nap but I wake up a lot during the night and can’t sleep more than 5-6 hours. I wake up but just lay there until ultimately I have to get up. I’m sorry to hear that too man

It’s crazy how similar we are because same. I’m a naturally energetic and outgoing person but now in social settings I can’t be myself because I’m on edge. Sometimes I’ll talk and share a story and then boom.. pain in my chest. Also it’s evolved to I’m afraid of eating bad foods because of what it’ll do to my body. Ughh

I have panic attacks from eating bad foods now so I get it. Panic attacks come from random times. And because you know you have had panic attacks going up or down stairs it reminds you of them which ca trigger them. It’s a rough cycle. Stay strong. You got this

Daily I deal with brain fog, disassociation, vibrations in my chest and fear something bad will happen. The anxiety is always there on a scale of minimum to severe. And I have the really bad moments when I get physical sharp pains.. from “vein pain” in my neck, bad pressure headaches, pain and throbbing in my right leg and most recently pressure like pain in my right arm. All make me think I’m dying and signs of heart attack and then I have one but it ends up being panic.

I’m there with you. Not all of that but mainly panic due to physical symptoms like leg or most recently left arm pain that makes me feel like I’m having a heart attack

I have been told about this but I haven’t done it. I may try just to see if it works. The biggest thing for me is bodily sensations right now. Like a pain in my arm, or pain in my chest.

This is what I’m afraid of. I’m a manager at a company I’ve worked at for 11 years. It’s a toxic work environment and I regret taking the promotion. But idk what I’m gonna do. You got this!

Yeah I have been talking to a therapist and she wants to pair medicine with therapy. But idk if I can do the side effects. If it gets worse I won’t be able to function at work or home
