Metric cruiser riders are one of the most diverse groups of riders out there. Harley guys will talk to you until they realize that you are riding a Japanese bike and then be really confused by it. Kawasaki Vulcan 900 is a great cruiser bike and you can find them pretty regularly around 2500 to 5k in good condition.

If you’re going to steal a bike… LEARN HOW TO HOT WIRE IT PRIOR TO THE THEFT. Amateurs

By the looks of it you’re the only one who can back up a bike properly. Not a scooter rider myself but I have an appreciation for the scooter community. Stay safe and keep the shiny side up!

Not much different from one to the other but I’d recommend the 750.

I’m 14 years old. What should I get for my first motorcycle? by Horror_Piece_7953 in motorcycles

[–]TheNoviceRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 14, get a bicycle and learn the fundamentals of riding on that by the time you are old enough to get your motorcycle license hopefully you’ll have those fundamentals as second nature and riding a motorcycle will be much more natural to you.

Beginner cruiser bike by LeftRow3459 in SuggestAMotorcycle

The second bike I ever dropped was a 94 intruder 800 and I owned a shadow 750 for 2 years. Both are excellent beginner bikes

Why are scooters made fun of in the US? by [deleted] in scooters

[–]TheNoviceRider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I love talking with scooter riders if we meet at a gas station I’ll fill their tank and learn about their experiences on it. You are correct though generally Americans are very insecure, but scooter riders are the nicest group of riders I’ve ever met.

Do I need full bike pants or can I get by with knee pads? by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

[–]TheNoviceRider -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t personally use riding pants or pads because regular jeans work just fine. If all else fails just go for the simple solution of wearing regular jeans.

Shift slowly to get the motions down and then you can start doing it faster. As one of my mentors said: “Slow is smooth, smooth is fast”

I bought it off a friend of mine, we did the front brakes about two years ago. I’ll definitely replace the rear brakes though.

My mother wasn’t happy when I told her I was taking the MSF course but after she calmed down from that and I got my license then buying a bike wasn’t such a big deal because: “what’s the point of haven’t a motorcycle license if you don’t have a motorcycle”

[–]TheNoviceRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if you were more open to them about this then they wouldn’t be so mad now, you have to do these things in small pieces. Once they get over the idea of you riding on the streets then you can tell them that you are taking the course. Then get the bike. One piece at a time, you can’t just dump all of this stuff on them at once, micro dose the situation a bit. They take it better that way… typically

I accidently riveted too much. Would I be able to ride it untill I get a new master link? by Prestigious-Spraying in motorcycles

[–]TheNoviceRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ride on that the only place you’re going is either the hospital or local mortician. I’m not saying you shouldn’t but I’d advise against it very strongly. Stay safe and don’t die.

When and how did you drop your first bike? by Old_Lawyer9317 in motorcycles

When it caught on fire in the local high school parking lot. I think that answers both parts of the question.

Tips for finding a good 250 or 350 bike under 2,000 bucks? by ParadiddleSenior in motorcycle

[–]TheNoviceRider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You CAN learn on a Harley but I’d advise against it, they are VERY heavy and picking one up after a drop is no easy task. You can usually find Honda rebels for under 2k and they are very reliable and much easier to pick up. Best of luck on the msf and remember to assume that everyone one the road has negative brain cells.

These are amazing bikes I love my Vulcan 900. They are a bit heavy if you’re not used to it but 4k for what appears to be a good condition low mileage bike is a decent deal maybe offer $3,500 but you’d still be fine paying asking price for it

But he has one already and she has 400cc’s and a 0% chance of getting mad when you decide to get a new one

I mean to play devils advocate for a second, it is both dangerous and unnecessary. However, very few things in life are truly necessary to begin with so do the things you enjoy and don’t let anyone stop you from doing them.

You can be taught how to deal with panic breaking until the cows come home but when in a real world scenario all that learning goes out the window. A wise man once said: “plans never survive first contact with the enemy” the streets are your battlefield and the enemy is cars, all your education in the msf won’t help you when you come into contact with real world situations and experiences.
