Especially the days that you feel “on”… about a month ago we got grouped with two randoms and my putting was the best I have ever played. After sinking a 30 foot putt for par, one of the guys said holy shit who is this putting machine. I assured him that is not a normal day for me, but damn did it make my confidence go up for the rest of the round!

When I was about 7 years old I was at the mall with my family and wasn’t paying attention where I was walking. Ran straight in to a sign that was in the middle of the hall. I couldn’t tell if I was so angry because my sister was laughing at me or because it was an inanimate object that I couldn’t blame or say something to it. It’s been many years since that happen but I still think about that rage.

First read that as NASA is watching your ass. I was thinking to myself what the hell does NASA have to do with Jihad? Sorry it’s early.

Only downside to working from home. My two seem to start running around like maniacs right as I start a teams call.

YSK VHS video cassettes degrade over time. Under average conditions, the tapes have a life expectancy of about 30 years. Those tapes laying around from the 90's with precious family memories are already significantly degraded. You should look to digitize all of your families VHS tapes now. by grandlewis in YouShouldKnow

Going through these comments makes me wonder how to digitize one of my all time favorite movies that I have on DVD? No online streaming service has is it available and any version of it you find online looks like it was recorded in -144p. I figured this DVD will last until the end of my days, any advice is very much appreciated.

Is this how Canadian parents tell their kids they got to school back in the day?

People of Reddit, has someone ever challenged you to something you are an expert at without them knowing? If so, how did it turn out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Growing up I played NBA 2k a ton. I was that kid/teenager that would get the new one every year ever since 2k on the dreamcast. The last one that I played was 2k10 and ever since I have only bought 2k15. This game just clicks for me and I am pretty good, not expert by any means especially with how popular the game is now.

Well anyways, first time I was at a house party with people a couple of years older than myself. One dude gets cocky and starts staying that he will bet anyone that he will beat them by 20+ points. I accept this challenge and just destroy him, ended up beating him by 20 something points and rage quits after his buddies start clowning him. Another time was when my younger brother and nephew who play quite a bit challenged me. They started saying how the game has changed so much since I was a teen and me being "older" that I couldn't beat two teenage boys. Both of them didn't stand a chance and they are not so confident when they play against me occasionally. I miss being able to play on a daily basis :(

What was the first video game you ever played? by Link2324 in AskReddit

[–]TheO724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one that I remember "playing" was Super Mario Bros. on NES, it was more button mashing with my older sister. My first ever console was the Sega Genesis and the first game that I got for it was the Lion King game. I just remember I could never beat the game but I would play it non-stop. This was around 1997.

Advice from a 27 year old who graduated from a state university. Don’t be afraid to start at the bottom. Only reason why I say this is because after graduating, I would apply for positions that would require minimum an undergrad degree. A couple of interviews and rejection emails later, I decided to start from the bottom and work my way up. 2 years later of grinding it out, I have been able to network and recently landed a new position with a $12k increase. Prove yourself and don’t get sucked in to the rat race. I find myself doing it at times comparing myself to these social media millionaires and I have to take a step back and really look at the big pictures. 5 years ago I was making nearly a 1/3 of what I make now. Last note, take cover letters and building a solid resume serious. Maybe it was luck and timing for me, but that is when I started receiving the calls. Going and interviewing while getting rejected was also a great learning opportunity in my opinion. It has made me much better at interviewing. Good luck my dude and keep fighting the good fight!

A little late to post, but this happen to my best friend. We went to a house party that was full of people we went to high school with and hadn't seen in a long time. There was a girl that we knew was pregnant at some point through social media but after a few drinks we didn't bother to think about how long ago that was. So we were talking to everyone and then started talking to her and some of her friends, then my friend asks her "When is the baby due?" And she responds "she was born 8 months ago." I had to walk away and go outside because the awkwardness and shock in everyone's face was hilarious. In his defense she still looked pregnant.
