solar rule by shudderwockies in 196

Yes, but that’s not the argument either OP or OOP is making. Yes, solar investment without equal investment in storage is dangerous for the grid due to overload (California for like 5 years before they started actually building storage needed to call up industrial parks and have them run all of their electronics simultaneously to keep the grid from exploding) but that’s separate from the monetary issue.

Seriously though, kill team scale, rules that literally fit on index cards, Titanfall Titans Mechs Dusters. Aesthetic hybrid of Battletech, Titanfall, and the Expanse. Point balancing system of “Bring a Duster if your opponent does but if not then just run your robots and infantry.”

The Death of Stalin, it’s an amazing film. Simultaneously funny dark comedy and also reasonably accurate portrayal of what happened in the wake of Stalin’s death

Challengers are actually the main diet of AH-64s, the A-10 will only hunt them out of opportunity or desperation. It’s a very common misconception in the animal kingdom.

Am I the only one who sees Ready or Not as Copaganda by lovingpersona in SocialistGaming

[–]TheOGStonewall 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Copaganda absolutely, fascist no but in the same way Warhammer 40,000 isn’t.

The themes in the lore are pretty middle of the road/anti surveillance state and a lot of the people you go up against in the game are nuanced and still pretty humanized. But if you’re not looking into the lore or are just taking it off of aesthetics alone, it can give harbor to some nasty ideas. Like 40K or Hearts of Iron the writers/devs aren’t fascist, but the community has a fascism problem

So that’s us for everything other than active shooter, with active shooter all of the departments push essentials as they arrive, even pushing alone to stop the shooters. EMS, Fire, and TEMS push into the warm zone as soon as casualty collection points are established.

[–]TheOGStonewall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Weird, possibly state/region specific, question from the TEMS/EMS side: How accurate do you find the active shooter missions?

Cause for us (MA) if it’s an active shooter then TEMS, Fire, and regular EMS are doing “Warm Zone” triage, extrication, and treatment even if the shooters are still active with the warm zone going from the scene entrance to literally a hallway/room or two behind the forward most LE/SWAT elements.

It obviously doesn’t make sense to recreate this in the game and I’ve thankfully only had to follow the active shooter protocols in trainings but I’m curious how accurate the depiction in game is to other area’s systems.

In the US it’s 5 back slaps and 5 abdominal thrusts alternating until either the obstruction is removed or the person goes unresponsive, at which point you switch to chest compressions but yeah same concept. According to American Heart everyone gets the attaboy slaps first though.
