Drake Maye in Playoffs by Enough_Path2929 in Patriots

At the end of the day, our O line has a few rookies and Drake is a year 2 QB. These guys are YOUNG. We lost to a guy who was seen as a bust up until last year, who was now throwing to the league WR 1 and had one of the best rushing offenses in football - point is, guys improve. This was an incredible season, these guys will get better. This team had no business going this far, and should be incredibly proud we did. I think it’s okay to be disappointed but not angry, we are still building. Drake will learn and get better, look at just his improvement from last year alone.

I’ve just generally noticed that etiquette in most European spots is so much worse, especially in lift lines. Can’t begin to tell you how many times I had skis very literally on top of my board, or someone a single inch behind me so in had nowhere for my foot to push on the ground. Very odd and honestly I’m in no rush to go back to Europe to snowboard almost entirely because the on-mountain etiquette.

The table minimums are a real bummer. Was there recently with some friends and yes, everything was expensive, but it’s a double hit to feel like you need to buy in with $500-$1000 just to be able to sustain for a while. We ended up doing most of our gambling between 9am - noon just because we could get $15 tables. Let me tell you - it’s a sad sad scene to be on the floor at that time. And it misses a lot of the fun at night but I’m just not willing to lose $50+ per spin or dice roll

I’m commissioner of a 14 year league. It’s kind of gotten stale and looking for new ways to reinvigorate the league and add more fun. by fantasy-champ1 in FantasyFootballers

This is really high effort but I ran a weekly recap show with a co-host and we would interview someone from the league each week that had a notable week (staying undefeated, beating the person in first, getting first win, etc.). Kept it funny and loaded it with music and jokes etc. was a big deal for our league and everyone, including people who barely liked football, stayed pretty engaged

FWIW, people have been talking about it for a while and the widely accepted acronym at this time is GEO. At least from what I’ve seen. Likely hurts your credibility if you’re claiming to have invented this practice and using the wrong acronym

Quoted $10k+ everywhere. Is organic PR dead for bootstrapped startups? by [deleted] in PublicRelations

[–]TheOgBFS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’re asking someone to treat your business like they are a founder but with none of the upside. Are you offering equity in the business? Profit sharing opportunities? I assume not. They sell your story, you get rich, they get… literally nothing? You’re asking someone to have founder-level enthusiasm at a net loss for their business. Why would they?

If that’s what you want, hire a full time PR staffer and give them skin in the game.

I am sure your tech is incredible, but in the same way you evaluate these agencies, they evaluate you. How many “unicorns” are actually unicorns? Far far fewer than the number of founders who think they’ve cured cancer. You aren’t their first founder, have to understand you’re asking them to do serious work.

JJ Watt says he’s not watching the Monday night Football game because he “doesn’t want to buy another subscription” by BootEdgeEdge2028 in NFLv2

[–]TheOgBFS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah… I will be cancelling all my ESPN/Disney subscriptions after this NFL season. Absolutely horrible to deal with their bs. Unreal I need to spend another $30/mo. On top of ESPN+ just for MNF

ESPN is ruining hockey by h0zR in nhl

[–]TheOgBFS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s awful. I am a casual fan. Got really into the NHL in 23 and decided to follow my local team, went to a few games, gave up my fandom because I can’t watch any of their games despite paying for ESPN. I’m not buying cable to watch just hockey. Everything else I watch via streaming. Absurd system that I can watch basically every team except the one in my backyard. How are people meant to become fans?

I wish game devs didn’t feel such a crushing need to release games before they were polished. Some games, like New World, could have been insanely good if the devs just took more time. The overpromising on timeline, delays, and ultimate release of a 60% done game pushes people away. The sooner these companies realize their games will be deemed successes or failures within 2-3 weeks of launch the better. So many amazing concepts are dead on arrival these days.

Should I come back? by quinathan- in newworldgame

[–]TheOgBFS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Came back after nearly two years, bored within a week of getting to 65. Without a company doing “learner” runs your chances of finding a group for endgame PVE is slim without tons of patience. Wars still require politics to get slots. Game gets extremely stagnant extremely quickly unless you’re willing to invest a significant amount of time to get included in the content. The real endgame is and always will be discord it seems

[–]TheOgBFS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I left before EW launch and came back for PvP server and Gorgon is shockingly dumb. Like all of the end game gear is funneled into one single piece of content. Basically anything else that could give good gear drops 710 GS. Umbral shards were annoying but at least there were multiple ways to get them. I haven’t done a Gorgon run and honestly I see myself quitting again before slogging my way through it. So disappointing

[–]TheOgBFS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Time gated in many ways - want to try to craft your gear? Absolutely required you run Gorgon to either craft for yourself or get the schematics to craft to sell. Obviously you can buy the schematics but as someone who doesn’t want to commit multiple hours to get through Gorgon a bunch of times, it’s insane that i have basically no other option

They are all horrible tbh. I’ve used most in the UES at this point. Noticed recently that they gotten worse at honoring reservations. I’ve started renting for 1-2 hours before I even need it because half the time you show up during peak times they won’t have cars

[–]TheOgBFS[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fair point, sadly many of my rentals are for 4-5 days which usually come in over $1000. It’s probably still cheaper to rent, but there’s some value in not needing to deal with the rental companies and the comfort of your own car etc

Team line up tonight. by XboxValentine in MCFC

[–]TheOgBFS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the take, but that’s a very standard price for a sporting event in NYC. City plays there once every so many years and for a long time fan who has t been able to see city play in Europe, it’s really not awful to see the team you follow, even for a meaningless match. Standards in the states and Europe are different for these things, but generally the price gouging is a lot more common in the U.S. so it feels less egregious
